i think it's more about the kids that only know about a handful of famous as fuck bands like rancid and sex pistols. and think that makes them punk as. they concentrate more on image than anything else, and for them it's more about getting people to look at their 'crazy' hair then standing for something. case in point. i know a kid who's just raided his dads records and is trying to go all punk, he only knows about the classics and bands we've told him about, he's just in it to attention seek, he buys brand new, expensive clothes. then tears them up so he can shove saftey pins in them. and when he first got liberty spikes he stood by the window in our college class just so kids would look at him. /rant ahahahaha. but yes, that's what i think it's about, and notice kids like that are always alone, because they've got no mates. lul. |

i used to respect atreyu. i know it's a cliche, but their older stuff was way better. the curse was their last decent release. and alexis are nothing like them. at all. they don't solo, anything they do could be called more of a fill. it actually CONTRUBUTES to the song, rather than just showing off. and they have 3 amazing vocalists, rather than to honestly mediocre ones. don't get me wrong, i used to love them. and if i'm not mistaken, crisis was released before deathgrip. and even if it wasn't, the timing between their releases are so close that alexis' would long be done with the writing process. co-ordinate brain and mouth next time. |

yerrrrr, thats what i thought the first time i heard this song, that it's generally just telling the scenesters to get the fuck away and stop corrupting it. i think the jumping from sinking ship to sinking ship bit is about how the fash kids will go from scene to scene pretending they like the music and what it stands for, and they're only doing it because one scene gets cooler than the rest for a bit. and the are you even listening bit is where they're like "are you even listening to what we're saying? or are you just pretending" *states the obvious* but yerrrrr, this song fucking owns |
