| Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Hysteric Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
To me, it's the single phrase, "you suddenly complete me". I didn't realize I was "missing" my future wife until I met her. |

| Kanye West – Street Lights Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Reminds me of a poem by BashÅ: Even in Kyoto– hearing the cuckoo's cry– I long for Kyoto. |

| Sufjan Stevens – The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades Is Out to Get Us! Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love the song. What a happy way to sing "it sucks to grow up". | |
| Kanye West – Homecoming (feat. Chris Martin) Lyrics | 18 years ago |

ksuds08" The Piano riff has no crescendo; it simply keeps its pace and repeats itself. Like an idea you keep thinking about over and over again with no result. "Maybe we can start again". Maybe. Maybe not. |

| Kanye West – Homecoming (feat. Chris Martin) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I like it; the piano riff is so pessimistic sounding... | |
| Ben Folds Five – Mess Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song isn't about "how much he loves her more than him". This song is about a man and his regrets. What I like about this song is that he's reconciled (or at least acknowledged) his failures. He is a bit of a sad hero; he recognizes his plight ("All alone as I've learned to be in this mess that I have made")... and he even knows it's not a singular thing ("... over and over again."). His errant ways will be repeated. The most striking line to me is: "There are rooms in this house that I don't open anymore..", immediately followed by his sadness that she'll "never see" that part of him. Even in his lack he wants her to recognize him, but she won't. All alone he will be in the mess he's made indeed. |

| Sufjan Stevens – For the Widows in Paradise, for the Fatherless in Ypsilanti Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I'm not religious. To me, this song reflects the incredibly inhuman task of trying, and trying, and trying, knowing that your efforts will probably fail. The last reminder, "I did everything for you..." seems almost like an afterthought. We humans are a selfish species. |

| Regina Spektor – Fidelity Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song is cloying. It's not positive. Happy people don't dwell on the past. | |
| Nas – I Can Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Historical inaccuracies or not, this song is dope. Read more, learn more, change the globe. |

| Alanis Morissette – Unsent Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I don't think it's a "courage" thing. All of these words are "Unsent" because they should be... you will never get over someone else without personal isolation. I'm sure we all have words we'd love to give to our exes, whether good or bad, and for the most part we keep them to ourselves... it's just what you do. | |
| Modest Mouse – Float On Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Bad shit happens. We exist in spite of all this bad shit. Sometimes we have to float our perspectives to realize this. We'll all float on, OK? | |
| Sufjan Stevens – Casimir Pulaski Day Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"and He takes and He takes and He takes..." As if our lack of understanding of each other in times of betray wasn't hurtful enough, imagine the depth of betrayal and hurt feelings one feels with God at times. |

| Bob Dylan – Don't Think Twice, It's All Right Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
There is no good intention in this song. This is just a guy, obviously hurt, saying, "You know what? Don't worry about it." And she blissfully won't, because she never has before. Breakups are the worst. |
