they were THE Christian hardcore band. they pretty much started the scene! their entire CD speaks profound truths about God and His love, grace, mercy, redemption, forgivness, and power. This is my praise music, basically. this song is the best on the entire CD. I love this band almost as much as I love Shai Hulud. SH is # 1, but Strongarm takes a close 2nd. this writer truly understood the God we serve - things that we hate often happen in this life and we can't fix or do anything on our own accord or might. I think this song is for anyone that has tried to rely either on their own understanding of truth (God's truth) or others' understanding concerning the trials and tests we face in this life. |

actually shai hulud hasn't broken up. I saw them 2 months ago and they were freakin BAD. and really nice guys too. they recently got signed to metal blade records and are working on a new album, from what matt fox told me. this song is my life's lament - I wish I could write as good as this guy! by the way, did anyone notice how they used some of the lyrics from Strongarm in a SH song on the TWBIT CD? now STRONGARM can write extremely beautiful lyrics, as can SH. SH is my # 1 band of all times, and this song is so passionate and angry and amazingly written. I love the writer's style. this song isn't that hard to understand - it's just intelligently written. basically, we are all depraved. we are all capable of burning others so badly and because everyone is the freakin same (innately selfish) the writer has turned inward to strengthen himself against the pain all the while never forgetting the fact that he too is shortcoming (these blistered hands). I could go on forever about this song. simply incredible. I want these words on my tombstone. |
