Great song. I agree it's Twisted Sister's best. I am sad to say I bought this album in 1985 when I was just a kid but really did not discover this song until I was 20 or so. What a great tune.
Agree with above. It's about life at the struggle to get what you want. It's tough but in the end it will cost you your life. Really a good song that still sounds great today. |

This song and album really started the hair metal of the 80s. Within 3-4 years of this song there we hundreds of bands that coppied this style. It was the first metal album to go to #1 and got all the record companies to notice. This was offically my first album I ever owned. 6th grade for me. The song "Slick Black Cadillac" on the album is still one of my favorites. |

What a great song. Pretty clear what its about. A teenage guy meets a girl during some sort of summer vacation. But in the end they go their seperate ways but he still thinks about her often. I think the line "Can you hear me now calling your name from across the bay" speaks about him calling her NOW, not then. He is still calling her name even after years have passed. |

It's funny to read these comments who think this song was first released on Garage Inc. This song was actually the B side to the "Eye of the Beholder" single from the Justice album. I think 88 or 89. I know this because I bought it. Mullet and all...
Still a great song after all these years. Its definitely about someone who is greedy. The reference to "seagul" may be about the bird. What do they do? They sit around waiting for something to turn up. Scavange or steal their food. |
