Bruce Dickinson – King In Crimson Lyrics 12 years ago
I came to read the lyrics to determine whether the song was based on The Dark Tower or not, and I have to conclude that it was not. There's nothing that would indicate any relation to the Stephen King series other than title of the song, which is a vague association. As someone else pointed out the album is at least partly based on William Blake's poetry, where King's original basis for The Dark Tower came from a poem by Robert Browning.

Killing Joke – Exorcism Lyrics 14 years ago
It's probably due to their excellent lyricism that nobody comments on them. They leave nothing to interperitation, it's all layed out perfectly clear.

Jaz has the most powerful voice in rock in my opinion. My dad used to play this album a lot when I was a kid and this was always one of my favorite tracks, that makes me laugh now that I can understand the content.

Tool – Rosetta Stoned Lyrics 15 years ago
I agree with everything but the part about him being at home. Lost Keys is dialogue between a doctor and nurse in which the nurse explains that they have a situation with a patient who is showing no physical trauma. Rosetta Stoned is the patient explaining his experience to the doctor. This would also explain the line "And can anyone tell me why y'all sound like peanuts parents?"

Definitely my favorite song about drugs.

Ween – The H.I.V. Song Lyrics 18 years ago
I don't see why people consider this offensive at all. It's not like they're saying "Aids is Great! HIV Rules!" They're just using 2 words.

Symphony X – Masquerade Lyrics 19 years ago
A common misconseption is that Pinella does the orchestral parts, but really Romeo writes and records them (i.e. The Odyssee).

I think the lyrics would be obvious like Hathaldir said, but that first verse bugs me. It sounds like it has something to do with Dorian Grey.

David Bowie – 5:15 The Angels Have Gone Lyrics 19 years ago
This is one of my favorite songs ever. The way I see it is that all of his life he's been searching, but he's never found a place where he can just stay and be happy, and he's realizing that it's because he left her behind.

Pink Floyd – Remember a Day Lyrics 19 years ago
more than just the loss of innocence, but the tragedy of realizing your limitations.

Climb your fatal apple tree
try to catch the sun

This could suggest that a child may climb a tree to reach out towards the sun, only to realize that there is a limitation restricting their glory of owning such a thing as the sun.

King Crimson – The Great Deceiver Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it's about a con man, which would obviously welcome the title of Great Deciever. Mention of a friend with a cloven foot would suggest a friend in the devil. In the night he's a star in the milkyway, which would mean he's one in a million, but he's a man of the world in the light of day, meaning he comes of as somebody who knows a lot and is full of wisdom.

The second verse speaks of a child being left in a paper bag on a doorstep and a woman raising him. So perhaps this is an allusion to Christ, but in being a deciever, he is the Antichrist.

Many of the lyrics about christianity would then be interprated as his deception towards man kind, passing himself off as a holy man.

King Crimson – Elephant Talk Lyrics 19 years ago
no offense inpraiseoffolly, but it's not exactly something hard to see, especially due to the line "These are words with a D this time"

Adrian Belew – Ampersand Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it's about the song writing process, and when you get stuck you can't escape thinking about solutions. Just a thought.

Dream Theater – A Change of Seasons Lyrics 19 years ago
I like the concept of the song describing a lifetime as the span of four seasons, but it wasn't exactly the most original idea. I'm not saying they stole it, but its a different take on the concept of a Rush song from the album Caress of Steel called "The Fountain of Lamneth". It's a 20 minute song about someones life from birth to death.

Dream Theater – 6:00 Lyrics 19 years ago
The Dream Theater website has gone through some format changes. When I first visited the website it was while they were working on the Six Degrees album, and when they changed the format to the newer one they changed the biography section.

The old biography section talked about Kevin Moore's leaving the band in more detail. He wrote them a letter some time while working on A Change of Seasons telling them that he was leaving he band because he disagreed with the direction that the bands music was taking. This direction of which he spoke was that of the Falling into Infinity album. He had no real notions of leaving the band until then.

As for the voices in the song, they always reminded me of the Spider-Man cartoon. One voice sounds like the Green Goblin, and mentions Mary Jane, Peter Parkers girlfriend. I'm not saying thats what they are, but thats always what they make me think of.
