| the guitar at the end of this and the distortion at the end of baby girl give me a sense of respect towards max as a guitarist (unless im mistaken, he does play guitar in the studio) the album musically is a big step from what was on IARB, but lyrically about equal. this band is the most exciting to listen to group out there IMO | |

| This song is so much better than the majority of WDNTW. I agree that the lyrics needed to be deeper, if they're attempting to sound so epic. The intro debate... I think that eventually the song sounds so much like Where the Streets Have No Name by U2. I think this is my bigest problem with AVA... they seem to be somewhat of a rip off in their basic sound. Hopefully they branch out from the U2-esque sound. Good song though. I'll take +44 any day though, but that just me. | |

This is one of my top ten favorite songs by my number one favorite band ever. I love this song. I think the chorus is great to, because the guitars kind of skipping, while the vocals are trotting. It's a great closer on a good but kind of dissapointing album. The live version on Skin and Bones is great to. I think the razor is someone sharp, beautiful and bright (razor blade shine), but they're with someone or doing something bad for them so he (the narrrator) plans on making it better (we need to find a better place to hide). In a metaphorical way, its almost the same as the opening title track (another of the albums best), only now instead of the person being 'dead' (emotionally i think, not physically), they show signs of the beauty and sharpness they possess, but narrator/singer/ well... dave... would do anything to bring them up. Great song, amazing on every level p.s the guitar sounds great, but dave does homme's part when it's played live, and then chris does daves please everyone, quit with the nirvana references already |

great song. best one on a good cd. i think this would do good as a single with a good video. the vid for FLW kinda lemme down. as far as the meaning goes, i think its about the patient and his relationship problems, and him thinking of how long they've been together (im thinkin since high school, being outcasts together etc.) and all the argument together. "If I'm so wrong, how could you listen all night long?" i think what he's tryin to say is after all the problems they've had and her constant crys of him being in the wrong, she's still there at the end of the day/night, leading to the question. at least thats what i think. could be/prolly wrong really into mcr right now though fix the lyrics btw |

wow what a voice, eh? i love this song, one of the better ones on an album that kinda let me down.. even though i'd but it again before most albums on the market today. i think daves over the whole kurt/ courtney/ nirvana thing. the only song about any of that on this album is friend of a friend, and it was wrtten 15+ years ago, so let the comparisons cease. le the blink 182 fans argue about new projects writing about past bands lol i think the meanings simple. someone the narrator cares for a lot isnt themselves, narrator would do anything for them to return to their old selves, even if he had to die for it cuz its killling him on the inside anyways |

i like blink 182, i like +44, AVA's okay too. between WDNTW and WYHSB, i think +44 had a much more impressive debut album. maybe at this stage in these two bands careers tom and mark and travis are still trying to get out the emotions of the breaup of blink, but i dont think that all the songs are about it, and as they go on fewer songs on each album they release. but i just pray this wont be like how everyone thinks every foo fighters song is about nirvana or kurt or courtney love or something. these are seperate artists with seperate musical styles now (AVA musically speaking sounds a lot different than +44) and they both need to be viewed as such. now that i got that out of my system... i agree with angelsdontkill. i think mark the guys just wanted to put down a good, pop- punk feel on the album to start it off. i really like the sound on this, and i think they really wrote about a situation where someone thinks they're a werewolf. or it could be just words with no true meaning. but unless its really metaphorical, i think its got nothin to do with tom. ava, or blink 182. if you want a song that is listen to valkyrie missle or no it isnt. im sure those are |
