Blackfield – Miss You Lyrics 16 years ago
Gorgeous song and very emotive. I see this as the follow-up to Pain on the first album. Its about having to go through seeing an old partner falling in love with somebody else whilst you still love them. Having to see them living out and enjoying their life while being trapped in the memories of you old life.

Porcupine Tree – Arriving Somewhere But Not Here Lyrics 17 years ago
Ive always thought of this song being based around James O Barr's graphic novel 'The Crow' or following a similar premise.
In the book a man (Eric) and his newly proposed-to fiancée (Shelley) are driving back from a romantic day at the beach when their car breaks down and they are met by some drug fuelled men who shoot Eric in the head and then gang rape and kill shelley while eric helplessly watches. After trying to save Eric's life in the hospital the doctors proclaim him dead and a year later eric returns from the grave to exact revenge.
I think this ties up in a few places reasonably well even if it isn't the actual meaning - but it does go with what Steven said about this being an 'Intelligent love song'

Key Lines:

'Never stop the car on a drive in the dark' - eric and shelley were killed when their car broke down one night

'Could you imagine the final sound as a gun' - they were both shot

'Ever had the feeling you've been here before?' - As he comes back to life

'Ever thought from here on in your life begins
And all you knew was wrong?' - Starting a new 'life' dominated by revenge and sorrow

'Did the scissors cut a way to your heart?
Did you feel the end before the suns of mothers
Tearing you apart?' - Eric witnesses everything in the hosital as the surgeons try to save him
