and the accident could have been intentional... "I could feel my heartbeat taking me down And for the moment, I would sleep alright Invading with a selfish fear To keep me up another restless night Another restless night" |

ok okk so this is what this song is really about...if you don't believe me go back and look at the lyrics after you read what i say The first line refers to taking a shot and the burning feeling that one feels as it goes down your throat. The rest of the song is him drunk thinking about his relationship. As he gets in the car to leave the bar he calls the girl to make sure she's ok...then get's in an accident on the way home. He stares at the blood around his body..calls it sober because for the first time he is opening up and letting love in. blah blah i could go on but you can think for yourself |

| ok call me crazy, actually don't, but I think this song has aloy to do with 9/11 or the war in general. "busy streets /stop to hold their heads heavy" this could refer to the streets of new york durning the attacks on the WTC. " where are we this cant be happening/dust has just begun to fall" the confusion of that day where no one knew the world anymore. And the heavy faces could only watch as the dust fell to the ground. Then the song changes direction and follows the aftermath of the familes and people who lost loved ones. "crop circles" the furniture of the homes where people died. "oily marks/where pleasure moments hung" the effort of the mourning to rid of memories of the ones that are now gone. " hide and seek" terror and fear of the people who ran for cover and protection. The seeker obviously is the attack on the us. "trains and sewing machines" contrasting yet catorizing all people. The busy working force-emotipnless and constant. The sewing maverick relate to a homey comfort feeling. Constant and strong but build something comforting.-feeling. "they were here first" the frustration and anger. How could they do this we were here first just leave us alone. | |

The correct lyrics are... As I fall asleep, to black and white TV Fly far away, in my recurring dream Each winter drains electricity And there are words to say And there are songs to sing But I can hardly speak at all Oh, I'm on my way to a holiday in real time Float a mile away, say we'll be OK Dear Valentine Now quietly we peek across the street Perfectly cut, perfectly mean But it's not complete, no not at all Oh, I'm on my way to a holiday in real time Float a mile away, say we'll be OK Dear Valentine |

To me this song is about being in a relationship and experiencing life's struggles together. "Here you can be anything. And I think that scares you. I think that scares you." This line could refer to how in life you there are so many possibilities and paths to take, that sometimes it becomes overwhelming. He says that he has been "there before" Meaning he once went through the same problems as the other person but he was alone then and now she has him to help. "What giving up gives you and where giving up takes you. I've had and I've been." He’s saying that he has given up before and knows what its like. He’s had what giving up gives you and he’s been where giving up takes you. "Here in the center frame...." I believe these lines refer to existence as a whole, in your life; it only comes down to the air you breathe. The frame being how much pressure one can take and there’s only just enough to fit. This gives me the image of someone being very troubled and uncomfortable...slowly going crazy. He repeats it over and over because he’s frustrated and just wants to help her hen realizes the only way he can get across to her is stop and listen. He shows his devotion and dedication by saying he will stay up all night...that he will see her through this. "Ill stop now. Just so I can hear you I stay up as late as it takes, as long as it takes. I promised I'd see it again. I promised I'd see this with you now" Now the song title "Just watch the fireworks" If you wanted to relate this to the song you could relate the fireworks to the girl. He sits and watches her struggles (explosions) but with a certain beauty, waiting and taking in the moment. Let me know what you think and if you have anything to add I really do love this song and I think its one of his best. |
