Fall Out Boy – Thriller Lyrics 19 years ago
The end of the second verse goes "Crowds are won, lost and won again; But our hearts beat for the diehards". Essentially, this is just saying that as part of their rise to fame, they understand that success is fleeting, but they appreciate the efforts of all their fans who've stuck with them from the beginning.

Joshua Radin – Everything'll Be Alright (Will's Lullaby) Lyrics 19 years ago
When I first heard the reference to Katrina in the 3rd verse, I couldn't help but think that the hole he feels in his pocket related to New York was similar to the hole in his heart that's the size of the World Trade Center. I think in general, the song is about loss and coping and reflection, but when he sings to a child he sees promise and potential and optimism.
