You're pretty off base, Aussie. Join the mgmtforum, why don't you? As someone that's seen and read a shitload more of their interviews, and heard *their* interpretations, more than you seem to have - I'd recommend it. For the record, I don't listen to anyone just because they're pretty, and MGMT had made friends with my ears long before I ever laid eyes on any of them. I'm familiar with psychedelia and it's many incarnations, thank you. And I wasn't saying that MGMT aren't influenced by it, or that it doesn't show in their lyrics. I'm just a bit peeved when everyone jumps to that conclusion first. Educate yourself a little first instead of guessing and speculating and assuming and sounding like an ass, kay? Kay. This is one song they haven't spoken much about. Until they do, and correct me - I'll continue to feel it's a romantic song. And yes, the melody is a part of it.. |
