| I keep listening to this song, and to me it seems as if String is using the moon as a way to show that one can not take baby steps when it comes to love. The idea that you have to giant steps, shows that you have no control over the situation. I agree with Schr4nz about the idea of his leg breaking begining his heart. This also shows why his friends tell him to stop because of the lenght of time it is taking him to try and get this girl. This can also explain why String sings "keep it up" at the end of the song. Not only to show that he is going to continue his quest, but it also helps to enforce the time idea which he talks about earlier. But thats is just my view of the song, which by the way is a great song, I love it so much. | |

This is such a great song and i just found out about it a little while ago. To me this song it talking more about a failed trick which he tries to pull with this girl. Hence the fact he says that they will make it out when he burns some bridges, to me that symbolizes the idea that he is cutting himself from his friends and the world around him. However soon after he commits to this trick, or to the girl, he finds himself dying with no one there to help him. And this girl who he put his whole life in the hands of stands there doing nothing. But that is just my view point of this song. |

I agree with the war in iraq, however I think that it has a meaning spreading to the whole United States. It's that time again Can we get it right? He wants us to revolt To set the world on fire We don't want to show restraint Because we like the violence We are security Wrapped in our brutality To me this line set of lines says it all, in the begining he wants to know if the people will get it right by voting the right president in. Then he begins to talk about the fact the Bush wants them to burn it down and revolt, but not in the way everyone knows. However take down the governments of over countries such as Iraq. Also I agree with enterthevoid for the idea that this songs talks about a place that you can go to. To me the writer is trying to say that the U.S as a whole needs to go to this place where it won't harm the rest of the world, somewhere dark and where we can't be found. |

I believe that this song is talking about a teen who wants to break away from her parents and joins the "wrong group" and while everything is going good, by the end she feels that her old life with her parents being the little angel is better then being the little devil with the wrong group. This can be seen in the last line of the song, "The silver spoon It's what's best for you." Also the title gives away the meaning, "The Patty Hearst Syndrome." This is because Patty Hearst was a young woman back in 1974 who was the granddaughter of William Randolph Hearst who was a big newspaper magnate. In that year she was kidnapped by the SLA and soon became one of the members. Only to be caught years later. |

wow more people need to comment, I think he is trying to model himself for this girl who he would want to go out with. this is mostly to do with the fact that he says he is modeling himself into their world just because of a smile and how he wants to be the biggest star in this persons sky, like a boyfriend. |

Like many people have said, i think this song is about him going after this girl who is going out with some other personat the time and he trys everything to get her, but he can't, but on the other hand the girl in this song is torn between the two guys, the singer and the person who she is going out with at the time. anyway you look at this song is it great and full of emotion which puts this as one of the best breaking benjamin songs. |
