| Explosions in the Sky – A Poor Man's Memory Lyrics | 18 years ago |

csufcf44, I was struck by how my interpretation of this song relates to yours. To me, I always have the same image in my mind when I listen to this song. It is a man, middle-aged, hand-cuffed and seated near the back of an armored bus that is carrying new prisoners to prison, and the man has his head against the window, staring wide-eyed at the world that whizzes by. He sees glee, glory, sadness, past, present, and future outside that window, little children playing soccer, bright, consuming lights, an old blind man on a bench, and every other solitary life, and the life that this man has given up starts running through his mind. The immense fear of all this beauty and tragedy and wonder being closed away in a little black box and discarded builds and builds with the marching drum beat. When the crescendo breaks open, the man explodes into a frenzy, shooting up from his seat, flailing around wildly, screaming, pulling at his chains, until he is subdued by a guard with a baton, forced back into his seat as the song winds down to a contemplative murmur, to silence... |

you ain't ready for war It's like bringin a knife to a gunfight -Jay-Z, 2001 Tryin to be somethin you're not like pullin a knife at a gunfight -Guru of Gang Starr, 1998 I'm actually pissed that no-one else has noticed this. Here's part of why I dislike Jay-Z so much... all he does is rip shit off other people like a parasite. Especially when he does it off rappers with ten-times his skill. Like the Tupac sample on Ether, "Fuck Jay-Z"... |

| I think I'm the first to mention that the beat to this song is taken from the Main Theme of Love Story, composed by Harry Mancini. Crafty. | |
| Limp Bizkit – The Truth Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Panathinaikos5... with all your ranting about how Limp Bizkit is shit and has bad music, you fail to see who's the real sheep here. NOW the trend is to say that you hate Limp Bizkit, THAT is the new "cool" thing to do, and the fact that (apart from the lyrics for the most part) this band knew how to make funky, exciting, creative music. Brains or not, Durst had talent, and it's just been his personal feuds with other musicians and important people that has caused Limp Bizkit's fall from fame. Limp Bizkit is not the shitty MTV world. In reality, the shitty MTV world has now deemed Limp Bizkit no longer cool, and drones like you flock to criticize them and stand on your pedestal. Because that's what everyone else is doing. Stand back for a second and listen to the music (although, for what it's worth, I don't like these songs as much as their older stuff), and you have to admit all the flak that this band gets is at least partly unwarranted. |
