Between the Buried and Me – Colorblind (Counting Crows cover) Lyrics 18 years ago
Actually, this song is a cover of the Counting Crow's same version, which was the original.

It's a very beautiful cover of it, though. BTBAM are some of the most talented musicians in all of the biz. It's too bad that they're underrated.

If you want to know the meaning of this song.. then check the Counting Crows version.

I have no clue, I was curious about that as well.. Sinergy, Warmen, and Children of Bodom all have those little clips at the beginning of their [various] songs.

Sinergy – Written On Stone Lyrics 19 years ago
This is actually a great song.. I'm surprised that no one has commented on it yet; well I guess Sinergy isn't one of the most popular bands out there, mainly because they're good and not like the mainstream crap.

On a first note:
I think that this song is actually called Written IN Stone.. not on stone. And on the tenth line, Continue is spelled. Contunie.. you might want to fix that.

This is what I see the song to represent:

"I dwell on the times I've had
I can't seem to leave the past
I've lost who I am inside
My spirit has long since died"

This, to me, symbolizes that you are caught up in the past because of some tragic or unfortunate event. You have been dwelling on this moment for so long, that you have forgot who you are and feel like you have no spirit has been dead, or missing, for some time.

"My eyes, they no longer see
My ears, they don't hear a sound
My lips, they have lost the taste
My hands, they no longer feel"

This just reinforces how you would feel if your spirit was actually dead or missing.

"Broken and torn am I withered and worm through time
So where do I go from here? Continue to breathe this fear?"

You are literally depressed and emotionally pained by the event and time has just made it worsen, because you are constantly living in the past. You call out for help and guidance to find the way to carrying on; you question why you should have to continue to live like this.

"Your eyes, never see me grieve
Your ears, never hear my cries
Your lips, never speak the truth
Your hands, never hold me tight"

This section represents either someone neglecting to help you or more figuratively- someone has died in the past that you cared about and physically and literally aren't able to help you.

"This isn't living, I'm only existing
I refuse to stay here and continue to live out this lie
So I shatter the hourglass, hoping my time will pass
Because I'll only be noticed when my name is written in stone"

This section, to me, represents how you aren't living when you dwell in the past. You should think about the present and the future. Angered, you break the "hourglass"- which represents time, in hopes to end your life, so that you can move on. You feel that you'll only be noticed by anyone when your name is "written in stone"- This is very, very powerful. To me, this is talking about how you feel that you'll only be recognized when you die and your name is etched into the timely tombstone at your funeral- a funeral that people will finally notice you at.

"My soul is made of glass
Weakend from sorrows past
I've lost all the will to try
So I slowly wait to die"

This section talks about how your soul is made of "glass"- it literally feels fragile and broken. Your soul is made this way due to the sorrowful event [whatever that may be] that occurred long ago. You have given up and you've broken time, which will slowly lead to your death.

"How long should I will regret? Why me? I have paid my dues
So lost, how can I be found? I wish time would heal my wounds"

This is talking about how you question out loud about why you are affected by this sorrowful fate.
We've all done this before.. think about it. Something bad happens and we question, "Why me?" "Dear God, why me?". This is conveying the same thing.
In the next line, you are asking how you can be found, because you seem to be lost, as if no one cares about you. You think out loud about how you wish that time, which seems to be the ultimate factor in your declination, could actually allow you to heal and mend your broken soul.

The rest is just repeated in the part I've already explained.

Well there you have it.. Sinery, Written in Stone. A very tragic song, yet so beautifully written. Ultimately, it is about how you are stuck on some unfortunate event that happened in the past. You feel like there is no one to help you; like your soul is lost and broken forever. You ultimately give up and wait to die.. finally realizing that you'll only be recognized when you're dead.

This is my first comment on this site. I hope you enjoy my interpretation. This is by no means what the writers' of this song intentionally wrote it about, but merely a "translation" that I've written out of deep through and interpretation. Please tell me what you think, as well!
