It could be about drug use. I'm also thinking its written to the government about WMA's possibly. And how ultimatly it will get you nowhere. It will lead to only destruction. It also might have to do with drugging/brainwashing the masses. Ex. "Clockwork Devices are all we'll ever be". |

It seems like the point of no return again following the theme of world destrustion. And it seems like apathy and lost hope. I don't know, I'm not sure but its what I thought when i first listened to the song. |

The whole album has a theme of where the world is headed and all the bad things that are destroying the world. This song is really about hope. And how there is still a chance to stop ourselves from destroying ourselves. |

This was written from the perspective of a soldier. It was written to a loved one at home. The letter was written in case he died and he did. He just speaks about how hes scared and confused and doesn't want to fight anymore. |

I kind of think of the whole Vietnam thing when I listen to this song. Like the burning thing has to do with the buring monk and then the corruption going on. I don't know I'm just throwing that out there. |

I really like Touwe's interpretation. I think it really is in short about every man or woman who have the potential to bring society down. It reminds me of the "proles" from 1984 except with a little more resistence. |

This initially appears to be a song about how people with religion in their life feel that they are superior to those who don't. The song pretty much mocks them especially with the whispering part. |

I seem to see the line, " Hands and Knees" recurring in a lot of his works. Like in "Hand that Feeds", Capital G, and now My Violent Heart. |

I am thinking Capital G stands for God. Its in someways a reflection of the world around us and how organized religion can distort ones views of reality. |

There is obviously a lot of drug references in this song. In a nutshell I think its about someone taking drugs and finding it as a sanctuary. |

The actual chorus is "That way I'll always stay away from you"
I think the song is about not wanting to be let down or torn apart so avoiding the problem is the only way to apparant to solve it. |

I think it has to do with trust and if he can count on that other person to swim down to pick him up as he would do the same if he was in a bad situation. I dunno. |

I think it might be someone he knows heading in the wrong direction. Possibly experimenting with drugs? |
