| Depeche Mode – Wrong Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Like the lines "With the wrong tune playing till it sounded right". I think its about when you keep making the wrong choices that lead to bad circumstances & you convince yourself its ok, not your fault. Blame it on luck, when you were born, your family, the people you hang out with, anything to take that guilt off yourself. For a lot of people that choice is to do drugs - keep making the same mistakes until you can make them feel ok but it could be anything. Just a thought. | |

Oh, yay for avocados up there! Before I really payed close attention to the lyrics I just heard the lines... "Please don't let me down this time, I've come a long way to just fold back into line." ...and thought to myself... Wow, this should be my song that I sing to myself while I'm trying to recover from heroin addiction. Of course I then thought, eh, it's probably going to be about a breakup or some girl and the rest of the lyrics wont make sense for my cause but then I read them... and it all fit for me. Beating addiction is terribly hard. You have to take your time not to rush things, change virtually EVERY aspect of your life, and it's so hard to let go of old friends, all to come out of this self induced haze to see what you've actually been doing to yourself. I see all of those aspects covered. "Please hold me back if I tend to lose it and steer into old tracks." I can relate to these lines. Or you know, maybe I just really wanted this song to fit. I don't know. But I think it's what it's about. |

I think this is a brilliant song about expressing whatever you feel into music and making into a true art form unlike so many singers/bands who just sing about shallow topics in the hopes of making it big. "Bore this, I've worn this, no never what the norm is" I think it's saying like 'it doesn't matter what people want to hear. This is what I have to say. This music isn't just music, it's part of me. It doesn't have to be "normal" or what's "popular".' "Contrast, colour, prisms, so warmin" He's showing his music as an art form rather than just a song. "Introduce your neighbour to your saviour" Like PureSilver said, it's not a reference to a literal savior (Jesus, or what not), but music in itself being a saviour, a religion. Music can be an art. Let it be free from cliches. Let it be unique. Let it be something you're passionate about. Don't care what people will think about it. OK. I'm done. The end. |
