| Bad Religion – Best for You Lyrics

It almost sounds like he's implying people are just keeping god alive in themselves because it's impossible to break from the stares of "everyone else"
They all know what's best for you, I bet everyone knows exactly what he means |

I love this song, it's saying that no one really knows what the truth is and that religions are like easy way outs, even though they are lies. My favorite line is "you know that you gotta serve someone
a prophet or a sacred cow
you know it doesn't matter now
pick one of the above
it's better than bowin' to no one" |

| Against Me! – Those Anarcho Punks Are Mysterious... Lyrics

I think it's the writer just stating the facts of what he sees in our society to himself. ritesofbryan2, I don't see how it says what you think at all. the "No's" can mean a ton of things, but if it's just the writer answering our question, it could be what he believes of everyone; maybe he's agreeing that no matter how hard he tries to make sense out of it, he just can't and we can't pretend we do. If we did 100%, that would make you not take part at all in the society. |

I think it's about when you do something bad, and you just go on pretending like it never happened until you start to live with it. |

| Thrice – Between the End and Where We Lie Lyrics

*sighs* ok, how can you stand up for christianity if you stereotype me an athiest for making a connection to a "big athiest book".
That's completely ridiculous and is a horrible act of hypocrocy from a christian that miss the point of his religion. Honestly, idk about your religion just from your comment, but I hope no "Strong Christian" agrees with you.
Anyways, this song sounds seriously to me like a christian and/or social interpretation of the book, "The Golden Compass".
The main character Lyra, dreams of a lot more and wants to go to an "outside world". The key, in which something very close to her is lost to use opens up the outer world and it matches the description of the chorus.
Kensrue is obviously turning it into symbolism, as it does get a message across.
Why don't you read the book before you judge it, I want someone who has read it please to make a connection, or at least try to see my point.
and no "it won't turn you athiest"
Didn't me at least :) |

Everyone wandering about this read "The Golden Compass" by Phillip Pullman. What the songs about, but a lot of it comes from that book. Anyone else agree with me? And no one spoil the ending on here!! |

It is also a syndrome (i dont know my medical terms) to kids that get kidnapped and end up liking their owner. Usually it's because they feed them and keep them alive. 'Great song with awsome lyrics (you wouldn't see any other punk band sing about this) :) |

| Rise Against – The First Drop Lyrics

I was reading "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" and found that this song may be completely from this one passage from it.
I don't know if I can type it because of copywrite stuff, but the chapter is the one where Injun Jones is about to get crushed in the cave (near the end), and it talks about the first drop is what ended civilizations (some fancy philosopher stuff from Mark Twain). I don't quite remember though. |

AnTeeSoShull can shove it. she/he (i really dont know) just came on this forum to f with people. we dont care about people bragging about sell out bands that sing about as pointless music as rap. Blink 182 is a great band that has a few songs you can pass up, but this song doesnt deserve people to put it down and call sellouts better. it is a great song that has a lot of meaning and they never tried to sell it out unlike some bands *cough* spice girls and hanson. |

this reminds me of genes and dna. which i dont believe.
our bodys arent made up of codes that tell us everything to do including even forming our body. there is a different explanation for all of that stuff.
if we all knew a better way to explain bodys than bullcrap letters.
were not smart enough to know. hell, i dont know where im going with this, but i got in trouble in science class for laughing out loud at this bull crap. |

you know what, this song was probably ment to mean one thing, but the writer didnt realize that it relates to so many things. maybe he does, just doesnt act like it. that being said all of your guys meanings are just different variations. all of them make sens though. i guess they intended it to talk about drugs though. |
