I agree with those posted above. Its about two people who have been friends who have feelings towards another, and they both know it. And they tried to see if it would work out once and it probably went wrong and the girl is too scared to proceed, and the guy is just waiting for her to come around. Throughout the song he gets frustrated saying that they had plans to be together forever as companions but she is being difficult and he cant seem to change it. |

Get me out of this place before I cause more damage. -- Hes on an anger streak. Upset with a girlfriend or a close friend of his. A small price to pay for building houses out of matchsticks. -- He is stating this is what happens when you create problems that can be caught without thinking ahead. The rest of the song for a while is him stating how upset he is and warning this person that they need to be prepared he is comming back to get revenge of some sort. He then changes his mind near the end saying Running from lions never felt like such a mistake. -- Pretty much trying to run away from these problems and conflicts and noticing he cant do this any more after a while so he heads back for his revenge.. stating he wants more and more of this conflict till hes even |
