I think, to explain the choking on your alibi's part of the track that the song is about a man who is closet gay (and i'm not saying that this is Brandon Flowers or any other memners of the band, its only a song people) The Guy fancies his best friend and they have shared a kiss, maybe his best friend regrets this moment. The friend has got wiht a girl to cover up what the narrator and he have done, and the narrator can see what there doing, if only in his head. He knows however that he cant let it bother him and he has to look to the 'bright side' of life |
