this song reminds me of the ending to Of Mice and Men. a socially/romantically crippled person tries to make a bond with someone only to inadvertantly hurt.. possibly rape them, and now this further damaged misfit wants the world to punish him and somehow justify what and what he destroyed something he loved. |

i think the remix on the From Hell soundtrack is superior. the title is called "The Nobodies (wormwood remix)" it has a very haunting sound to it. i recommend downloading it since the rest of the album is generic classical music not composed by Manson. |

i like the line "sorry i saw a priest being beaten...and i made a wish". since there have been several priest pedophiles (not to mention the hundreds of corruptors of morality) who never get punished for their crimes. so, having seen someone deal out street justice...it is a rare sight. like a falling star, which people supposedly cast a wish upon seeing. |

"I'm a VCR funeral, a definite waste" is incorrect. its "a dead memory waste" to reflect on how despite VCRs and VHS recording things correctly they are being discarded for a prettier medium (dvds) that do the exact same thing. |

the noise at the start of the song is a sample froma movie called "THX1138" where someone is getting beaten. i haven't seen the movie but if someone could post the clip on youtube it would be nice. from what i hear the audio was altered a bit so it wouldn't be a perfect match to MSD. |

p.s. Disco is largely considered a "what were we thinking?" phase in the music industry. it was basically just a method of getting people onto dance floors without having to hire a live band. Manson seems to be implying he knows the "person"'s guilty pleasure in this metaphor, probably relevant to my earlier interpretation. |

i think the mispelled monkey part is referring to The Monkees, who as i recall originally didn't sing or play their instruments. they were basically just cute faces to sell to an audience. this entire song is about the "me-too" mentality that faux-rebels live in. a lot of manson fans think they are "demonic" and badass simply because they listen to manson. when you strip these people of all the ideas and objects their idols make, they are revealed just to be another shallow wannabe with nothing original to offer. |
