New Found Glory – Too Good To Be Lyrics 18 years ago
To tell the truth i hated this cd when it came out. A few months later i listened to it again and it struck me. It feels weird saying this since i've been a fan of this band since their local South Florida days (Bring back the "A"!) but this i think (eek!) this is their best album. Bar none. It finally sounds like they stopped being so juvenile. It was fun when we were all teenagers, but dammit we all grow up. To me in this cd they sound so comfortable, like this is the music they have been wanting to make all along. This is also their most solid cd from beginning to end. Give this album a fair chance and I'm sure all the NFG fans will fall in love with it like i did. Oh yeah and this is the best song in the album, along with "When I Die." :D

New Found Glory – Intro Lyrics 18 years ago
jeez, I think a lot of you are missing the point in this song, but first of all let me give my two cents on a few points spoken about here.

First of all, Yes, NFG (they're still A New Found Glory in my book) worked their asses off for years before the whole pop-punk thing exploded. They toured relentlessly and released quite a lot of stuff before songs from Sticks & Stones started getting a lot of airplay. They also made a big deal of meeting fans and being cool with them, i know this because I live in South Florida, and back in their local days they were always known as being super cool with their fans. Good Charlotte was not manufactured, they did work their asses off too, and actually see the video for Festival Song, Thats NFG and Good Charlotte hanging out. I think the problem was that GC started taking themselves a little too serious. As far as Simple Plan, i dont know much about their story so I cannot judge, but i simply dont like their music.

Second of all I dont know what the big deal is with the curse word. Like none of you have ever cursed before. I think someone else mentioned it before here, has anyone seen NFG live? they curse all the time. Yup, Chad was once the singer for Shai Hulud, and some of that stuff has been felt on the surface on the previous records.

Now, as to the point of this song. Everyone here is saying its about the manufactured bands. Partially yes, but i think what they are really talking about are the "new" fans and the lack of respect they have gotten by people who just joined on or are being elitists about the whole group of bands that came up along the time of NFG. Let's face it, Whenever a new musical trend comes out, a lot of people join it just because its fun, or because it is trendy to do so. Same thing happened with grunge, same thing happened with alternative in the mid 90s. People getting in not because of their like of the music but because it was cool to do so. This is why they say its not about a tattoo or a trendy t-shirt. It also deals with the frustration that a lot of these bands, that really worked their asses off had to deal with. No matter what NFG does, or Good Charlotte, or Sum 41 does, there are people that will just pigeonhole them into this "pop-punk" category and automatically dismiss them. They won't give them a chance, they will always say "its one of these bands" and say its crap immediately. Out of all the bands that came up at that time NFG was by far one of the better ones. Although they didn't have the best sound, best vocals or best lyrics, they constantly made songs that people could feel a strong connection to. All the true fans know this for a fact, NFG is one of those bands that at first doesn't make much sense but that you can easily fall in love with. NFG deserves a lot more respect that what they get, and to me, that is the true point of the song. Cheers everyone!

Everclear – Sunflowers Lyrics 19 years ago
Jeez I love this song. So Much for the Afterglow is a very underrated album. My take on the song is, yes, it is a fatherly figure talking to someone younger, but it does not have to be a father necessarily. I agree with Sick*of*it*All in that it could be about two childhood friends. I say this because I've run into the same circumstances. You grow up with someone or meet someone and you begin to care for them not necessarily in a romantic love sort of way but in more of a protective way. As if this person is just like me, i see the same patterns, same insecurities, same problems I went through. I suffered through all these things, and I don't want this person to go through the same things as I did. SO IT IS a fatherly figure, but it could be as a mentor, a friend, a family member, or a little sister type of thing. Damn, I just ranted on for too long. I love this song.

Saves the Day – Sell My Old Clothes, I'm Off to Heaven Lyrics 19 years ago
Jeez this song kicks my ass. This song hit me in a time where i was going through something similar, and some of the stuff on the song hits me really hard. It is about falling out of love. That heartbreak when you know its all over, that not even a minute more can be spent together. It also mentions how it eats him up, that she has found someone else. This song is so gut-wrenching to me.

Saves the Day – The End Lyrics 19 years ago
I seriously don't know why such hate towards In Reverie. This is so fricking typical of the community to hear something slightly different from the early stuff and all of the sudden dismiss the band. I've been a fan since the TBC days and love all of the early stuff, including the Sefler demos. Guess what though? PEOPLE GROW UP. With life experiences, everything changes, including your tastes in music, food, love, anything you could imagine. In Reverie was just STD reflecting some of those changes, and of course the new band gelling at the time. If you are gonna bitch about STD, then start complaining from SWYA because that album did have a drastic sound change from the previous stuff. I still think that SWYA is probably the best STD cd, it is the most solid and complete of all their albums. The songwriting on it is impeccable. As far as Sound The Alarm, even though I like it, its inferior IMHO to In Reverie. Funny thing someone mentions Pinkerton. I usually tell my friends that In Reverie is STD's Pinkerton. Cheer everyone, keep the discussion going... :)

Saves the Day – I Think I'll Quit Lyrics 19 years ago
Seriously I am really confused now. I only know of Saves the Day starting from the Through Being Cool Era and on. Last year i bought the Ups & Downs CD and on the back its says taht this song is called "I Think I'll Quit", when i look up the lyrics for it though its nothing like the song. Through this website though I found that the Sefler (yes i know STD used to be called Sefler) version of "Kentucky Parallel Parking" resembles it more when it comes to the lyrics. Is this a typo in the cd booklet and case? can anyone explain?
