Your interpretations make sense. And I see now how the last part of the song fits in: A tear for the poet That can't be heard Praise the artist that steals Another problem of our society. We praise the artist that steals (mainly mainstream musicians) and many of us ignore the real poets out there. Therefore the song is about these leeches who are successfully selling us their stolen mainstream shite. Oh, and how right In Flames with these phrases are... |

Basically I agree with the last two posts, that this song is roughly about love: The singer doesn't seem to know real love.But to the world outside he is pretending that everything is perfect and that he can live without love. As soon as he is alone he begins to reflect about himself and must admit that he is lonley and yearns for love. In the pre chorus he claims that the person, he wants to love(does this person really exist?) , should help him to understand his new feelings and should always be there for him. When he has found this particular person he is ready to offer her his own whole life, if only she would take the time and try to have a relationship with him. ("Stay a while and breathe me in") Sorry for any language mistakes, I'm not a native speaker ;) |
