Pearl Jam – Daughter Lyrics 19 years ago
Here's something new about the meaning, could be a long shot but who knows...

If Eddie reads Ernest Hemingway, it could be about the novel "Across the River and Into the Trees". I dunno, I doubt it's actually about this but here goes...

"Daughter" is what the protagonist calls his young lover (he's 50 and she's 19). "The picture kept" could be about a portrait the protagonist has of her, and "she holds the hand that holds her down" could be about a cripple hand that the protagonist has, which his lover is obsessed with; it holds her down because it signifies that he is too old and physically weak for her to love. I dunno, if you've read the story you'd understand the connections better.

I'm pretty sure I'm reaching here, but just thought I'd bring something new to the table.

The Sundays – Summertime Lyrics 19 years ago
This is such a romantic song, I think it kinda shows how naive people can be as far as finding the one you love. I like the newspaper idea, that's quite a convincing argument. I dunno, call me crazy but it seems like a frustrated girl who despite the difficulties of finding a significant other still realizes there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Paula Cole – Me Lyrics 19 years ago
I agree with all above, I think the last part may be about suicide thoughts or attempts. I know it could be metaphorical, but either way I think she's talking about how she's had enough and wants to end this depression - game she is playing. But she realizes that there's a better solution "I know there's something better". Great Great song.
