The Kills – Tape Song Lyrics 13 years ago
The chorus is not what it sounds like. It's actually, "You've got your ghost in my head."

Marilyn Manson – 15 Lyrics 16 years ago
Well, we all know his birthday is January 5th, 1/5 hence "15". This is where we got New Model No. 15 and what not. It sounds to me like Manson is talking to a past lover, "If you don't know what forever feels like, I'll show you what it feels like without it." I'm thinking this girl left him on his birthday maybe?

To me this just sounds like a passing song, of love, religion or life altogether. Moving on. I love this song. The background vocals in the end of the song when he's singing; "Not letting you win, won't satisfy me. I'll teach you about loss..." TOTALLY gives me the chills. Very nostalgic.

Circa Survive – In Fear and Faith Lyrics 19 years ago
With lines like: "I never loved you" "Follow five footsteps through that open door" and "congratulations, go home now" it's probably about a one night stand.

The "Congratulations, go home now" is like he's saying; you got what you wanted now leave.

My Chemical Romance – Mama Lyrics 19 years ago
Also, it sounds like this song was inspired by the poem "Dulce Et Decorum Est". Look it up and read it, you'll see what I mean.

My Chemical Romance – Mama Lyrics 19 years ago
I'm thinking this is a flashback. Possibly from World War One. The song is about a letter written from a soldier to his mom, I believe the night before the battle of the 'Somme' where thousands of Allied soldiers tried to break through German lines. The allied soldiers knew that when they crossed 'no mans land', they were going to get slaughtered. "Well now mama, we're all gonna die!" Think about it. The mortars falling in the beginning of the song. The Allies shelled the crap out of the Germans the night before they rushed the lines in Somme.

"We let the fire just bathe us, yeah" This isn't actual FIRE, its machine gun fire. The battle started and they are getting smoked like expected.

"You made us oh so famous" Back then it was an honor to fight for your country so the people back home really supported the troops, making them famous.

Okay... I'm seriously too lazy to analyze the rest of the song. So,... That is just my general idea. To me, the most chilling part of the song is the crying at the end. Like it's the mother crying when she gets his letter.

This song hits me hard having spent two tours in Iraq; at shooting cars that run our checkpoints with the .50 cal, rolling over an IED and losing hearing in my left ear. War is hell, I can't even begin to imagine the shit that those boys went through over in the trenches during WWI.
