i read a lot of artist interviews... 'Uh, well. [Long pause.] "Kevin Is Gay" has those "meows" at the end, and everybody always asks what that's all about. And, uh, it's what I like to call a "cat solo." I think it's the first one. And that just started because I was in this tiny little vocal booth when I was recording vocals, and at the end of the song, every time we'd go through and do a round of vocals I'd meow at the end - just so by the time we were done I could hear a chorus of myself meowing. And I liked it so much, I just kept it there.' how obscure aye! i love it! x |

i just read an old interview of 'giant drag' and the title was just totally random. here's a clipping... “Kevin is just a guy though,” she says, “the song is nothing to do with him. But this guy, a friend of ours, hacked into our website, so it’s a response to him. We posted up on there, ‘Kevin, stop posting all this stupid crap on our website. Come and see us tomorrow when we’ll be debuting our new song Kevin is Gay’. And the title just stuck.” nice to see spontaneity within a band :) x |
