The chorus I think is a typical Dave theme of a girl leaving or changing her mind about him and he words his understanding and his being set free. Second verse swings in that direction too. Ed (Charlie's other brother) helped write this, i know cos i asked them personally. And your right, will did write the majority, oh and Charlie does play it, it's proven when in the live DVD they had to play Why twice because Charlie's guitar was not working and the riff at the start was not playing at all, after two more songs, charlie explained to the audience about the fuck up and played it again, this time the guitar working. also toward the end, the excat time he hit his foot on the pedal, the reverb turned off. This is purely about what a person makes the writer feel like even if what the person may be doing some thing deemed disgusting "she smokes like an amethyst" "she is moving her way through my skin" = gives that amazing tingly feeling that you get when you like someone (sorry for the cliche but it's true :) ) however no matter how he tries, he cant seem to egt her to notice him i think the chrorus speaks for itself but almost looks as if the story has jumped forward somewhat by saying "I'll try to kill our pastime" the rest of the song gives the same ignored feeling all the way through till the end thats what it think it means :P (fightstar is my fav band and been since they started, out of all their songs this one means the most to me) |
