Rise Against – Give It All Lyrics 19 years ago
we've already hit rock bottom. its where we

live now. yet we still dig even tho its

already the limit.

we've pushed this planet far enough and

everything in it. including ourselves. backs

are breaking under tension. how long can this

hold out? more and more tension.

-the tension/pressure we put on the planet.
-the pressure we put on ourselves and how we

look.
-our appearences.
-pollution...burns my tongue.
-caging animals.
-caging ourselves.

from the music video:

killing our own species in wars insteading

saving each other (video of soldiers being

replaced by fire fighters running towards the

fire, not away from it.)

the pressure to look "perfect" (the picture

on the bus stop)

suffering of animals (the caged tiger)

so give it all.. and rise against. rise

against this direction the world is going.

because it has to start some time. so what

better time than now to start standing up for

the planet we live on and everything in it.

the air we breathe. the lives we live.

rock bottom's where we live. aka we're on the

edge. it's time to turn around.

Rise Against – Prayer Of The Refugee Lyrics 19 years ago
IMO

he's being the voice for the voiceless. just like animals and the planet. he's singing for the refugees. the slaves. the children being forced to work. the voiceless. because too many ppl live their lives without knowing or thinking about this harsh fact. we take it all for granted. "But we’ve been sweating while you slept so calm,
In the safety of your home."

"Warm yourself by the fire, son,
And the morning will come soon.
I’ll tell you stories of a better time,
In a place that we once knew."

from the regufee's point of view. of how hard it is for them. they have to stay by the fire to keep warm till the morning comes. they tell stories of the place & time they used to live in. before they became refugees.

"Before we packed our bags
And left all this behind us in the dust,
We had a place that we could call home,
And a life no one could touch."

again from the refugee's point of view. thats why they became refugees. cuz they had to pack their bags and leave their life behind.

the prayer of the refugee goes like this:

"Don’t hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don’t need your help now,
You -WILL- let me down, down, down!"
(not WON'T)

basically the refugees dont need help cuz they can stand their own ground. they dont need to be held up and then let down again and again. its about rising up and against.

"We are the angry and the desperate,
The hungry, and the cold,
We are the ones who kept quiet,
And always did what we were told."

"We’ve been pulling out the nails that hold up
Everything you’ve known."

think about it.

"So open your eyes child,
Let’s be on our way.
Broken windows and ashes
Are guiding the way."

"Keep quiet no longer,
We’ll sing through the day,
Of the lives that we’ve lost,
And the lives we’ve reclaimed."

"Go!"

Rise up and against. Keep quiet no longer my children. we'll sing through the day of the lives that we've lost.... and the lives we've reclaimed in the end. so go.

"Don’t hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don’t need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!"
