| Blind Guardian – Theatre Of Pain Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Are you guys serious? Honestly, I don't think its either or those things, whale love or nukes... Blind Guardian usually doesn't write songs about very modern things. I think it might have some sort of biblical reference. With the giant (David and Goliath), the desert (location of part of the bible), and whale (Jonah and the whale). I don't think the song has anything to do specifically with these, but it reminded me of a typical story in the bible. | |

I was listening to this song tonight and realized how much it reminded me of middle earth and Tolkien's writings in general. Though it would be a stretch to say that the entire song is about LOTR, and a bit redundant to explain some of the middle earth trivia that has been explained thus far, I'll give my own interpretations of some of the lyrics. I think the song is reminiscent of the early days of Arda, before Men had 'awoken'. Given the lyric 'Children of Sun,' could stand for the second kindred-Men. They could be referred to this because they were not bound to Arda like the first kindred was(Children of Earth-Elves). I thought this was interesting, and worth noting since I've listened to zeppelin all my life and just made the connection. :) |

| Sonata Arctica – Last Drop Falls Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This reminds me of a girl I once knew, and fell in love with. She kept playing with me, going between another guy and I. Guys came and went, but one thing was certain, she would come back to me. I finally got enough smarts to leave. Just my two cents on how it can relate to an average person :-D | |

Youthful ignorance, perhaps? "I was eager, day time dreamer, waiting time when I'd come alive" That line, for some reason, appeals to me. :) |

| Nowhere does it say in the song, that he actually plays the guitar. Keep that in mind. | |

| Yes, mattd23, that's exactly what I was thinking! Who knows, he could have been suicidal, among the dozens of other things it could mean. | |

Wow, this song just blows me away. This was my dad's favorite song when he was in the navy, so I think it has something to do with the military. All of the comments are great, but I had my own little twist on the meaning of this song. I think it has to do with all sailor's love for the sea, and the need to go back to it, even when it means leaving their loves behind. Something a lot of us have to deal with. "At night... when the bars close down Brandy walks through a silent town And loves a man... who's not around She still can hear him say" Just a minor note; this situation seems the same of all sailors, them leaving and their lovers continuing to mourn their departure. I'll probably think of more later, but I just had to post in response to this great song. |
