| Andrew Bird – Spare-Ohs Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
And your teeth are worth more than you can *spare Oh* don’t tell me that it just isn’t fair maybe that has to do with the title? i was listening to this song this morning, and thinking "this song must be about chickens" the whole day. i think that's kind of funny now that i see the story behind the song. |

| Andrew Bird – Imitosis Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
this song has so much character, i think it's so clever and unique and narrative. i think it's pretty blatant that it's about trying to measure intangible concepts through science, the way we analyze genetics and chemicals in the brain etc. it's kind of like the doctor is searching for proof of "love" (closeness) and finding only proof of biology (mitosis). by the way, this song is in a commercial. i can't remember what it was, but it was just musical parts of it. i think it was for oust or something unimportant. |

| The Birthday Massacre – Happy Birthday Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
oh man oh man i like this song. someone gave me a cd with all this weird punk and goth industrial type stuff on it, which i don't listen to a lot generally, and the birthday massacre is so good! i remember stumbling upon their website a few years ago, and it was just a really awesome website, and listening to some snippets of their songs. man. this song is so creepy and violent and aw (: it reminds me of reading about serial killers, where you're all oh this is sick! but it's so much fun, too. i love the black and white> black and red dress thing. it reminds me of how magicians at the zoo and stuff get out a handkercheif that's red and say, "this used to be white" to scare the little kids. |

| Pixies – Where Is My Mind? Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
according to Wikipedia: "Francis was inspired to write "Where Is My Mind?" after scuba diving in the Caribbean. He later said he had "this very small fish trying to chase me. I don't know why - I don't know too much about fish behavior."" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surfer_Rosa |

| The Beatles – In My Life Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
"There are places I remember All my life, though some have changed, Some forever, not for better, Some have gone and some remain." those lines really get me. i heard this song for the first time on the radio yesterday and i got the chills. |

| Mustard Plug – Jerry Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| this song reminds me more of some cult thing, like the Jim Jones shenanigan and Heaven's Gate Cult and whatnot. | |
| Pixies – Debaser Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| oh god, the pixies in combination with surrealism. i think i just had an artnerdgasm. i really want to see this movie. i had no clue there were surrealist films. | |
| Bright Eyes – An Attempt to Tip the Scales Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i realized how much i liked this song today. i don't know, it just has these little snippets of details that get me. eep. i love conor oberst. "Well, winter is going to end and I’m going to clean these veins again" |

| Bright Eyes – Soul Singer in a Session Band Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
the word carpetbagger definitley supports the idea that this song is about "sellouts". from wikipedia: "In United States history, carpetbaggers were Northerners who moved to the South with Freedmen (freed slaves), and Scalawags (Southern whites) in the Republican Party, which in turn controlled ex-Confederate states for varying periods between 1867 and 1877." ""Carpetbaggers" was coined from the carpet bags used as inexpensive luggage. It was originally a derogatory term, suggesting an exploiter who does not plan to stay." |

| Say Anything – Alive with the Glory Of Love Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
"yeah... the song has no deeper meaning than "its the holocaust, your hot, lets bang'... say anything is a cynical sarcastic band [[in a good way.]]... get used to it. hope that cleared something up =) " that's exactly what i think. i don't think that the holocaust reference have any real meaning. i think he put them in just for the hell of it, to establish some kind of theme. this is just a fun song, and i don't think the holocaust references make it "horrible". it's just fun. |

| The Matches – Didi (My Doe, Part 2) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
eeeep, this is another one of my favorites off decomposer! i think they should make this one their next single, if they have another single off decomposer other than "what katie said". i LOVE LOVE LOVE when shawn's singing "it gets worse & the worst just gets the best of us.." and they're saying the "my doe is a little bit psycho" part. dsfkhkdsgh ! |

| The Matches – You (Don't) Know Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this song is so much fun. :D definitley one of my favorites from decomposer. and it's supposedly a dance hit in the uk or something, hahaha. to me it sounds like it's just a song about some sleazeball douchebag who lives with his parents and does nothing useful at all. and i'm assuming that all the references to places in this song apply to places in california. | |
| The Higher – Histriock My Body Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
intoxicated is spelled with an i. hahaha. anyway, yeah, i like this song and the other two versions of it? it's obviously about some girl who's promiscuous and flirty and blah. it's catchy. (: histrionics is some psychological condition apparently. look it up on wikipedia. |

| The Matches – What Katie Said Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
i think that "you've got standards girl, what the hell are you doing with me?" sounds better than "you're a cool girl". i think the new version is more well-written personally. i love e. von dahl but decomposer as a whole is more well-written, and they grew a lot, and their proud of decomposer obviously. aaaaand i love this song |

| MC Lars – Hot Topic Is NOT Punk Rock Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
i love this song, it's hiiilarious. and i love Shawn in the beginning.. "MC lars is more punk than you!" hahah. anyway, this song is just poking fun at how Hot Topic claims to be punk rock, whatever punk rock is. Jon from the matches talks about this song a little bit on this interview, about 2:40 into the video or so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1vJe7mL5TM |
