first i agree with the corrections posted earlier, the listed lyrics don't go with the ones in the cd booklet. it would have to be "again" not game, he clearly says again, and according to the official lyrics he does. that being i said, i think this song is essentially about being "burned" and realizing that you were hurt, so you don't do go around that fire anymore. he says that he loved the things that he'd forgot, the wrong things he was doing, and he became a "moth" (bugs that fly around lights). his wings were made of cloth (a flammable material), saying that the things that were a part of him were essential to his downfall. the song is not all doom though. the chorus is an anthem for not putting himself through that again, that "burning" expierience. of course lyrics can be something entirely different depending on where you are in life and what you've expierienced, so obviously my interpretation could be completely off to some people. i do believe that this was at least the intended meaning. |
