| A Perfect Circle – Magdalena Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Could have to do with personal experience written through mythological metaphor. Or it could have to do with the, early church suppressed, belief that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were lovers. | |
| A Perfect Circle – Judith Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
From what I can gather is IS about blind faith. Maynard James Keenan's mother was named Judith and she at one point had a stroke. Due to that she suffered from partial paralysis. She interpreted this as a test of faith from god. I think it's about his frustration due to this. Example: It's not like you killed someone It's not like you drove a hateful spear into his side Praise the one who left you broken down and paralyzed He did it all for you Sounds pretty clear to me once out in the proper context. |

| Behemoth – ΠΑΝ ΣΑΤΥΡΟΣ Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It makes sense that he'd be a model for evil in the views of a conservative culture like Judaism. Pan, if I'm not mistaken, was tied to fertility in the Greek pantheon. | |
| Behemoth – Deathcrush (Mayhem cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| death's right, this song's originally done by Mayhem. That's why it doesn't have the complexity of Behemoth's regular songs. | |
| Pantera – Avoid the Light Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Has anybody been able to figure out what's being said at the very beginning of the song? It sounds like spoken words being played in reverse. Anybody else have a theory? | |
| Enslaved – 793 (Slaget om Lindisfarne) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
It has to do with the Christian "conversion" of the Norse. "But we betrayed by our own brothers We were forced down to our knees." They and all that they believed in were betrayed when the people submitted to the mental enslavement of the unholy Roman church. Also that last bit about "Never betray your origin". Is pretty unmistakeable. |

| Emperor – I Am The Black Wizards Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The reason why the churches were burned was, in my opinion any rate, retribution against Christianity. If you look at how Christendom finally enternched itself in Scandinavian culture it wasn't pretty. They did everything they could to avert a beautiful culture from it's roots. In the end they could never fully succeed so they adopted some of the pagan customs. They built churches over Nordic holy sites. In fact Fantoft church, one of the churches that was burned is over ancient holy ground. Also if you look at how the Catholics "cross" themselves that's actually a variation of an old Norse prayer. | |
| Mayhem – Funeral Fog Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Actually, I'm not sure if any of you guys remember your Bram Stoker but I believe it's about Dracula. He could take the form of a mist or fog. Proxima: I do agree that it's not the greatest English and that "at this time each year" would sound better but hey what're you going to do? You can't change them now. Personally the coolest version of the song that I've heard was Emperor's cover of it. | |
