I think it's about Jessica being in a coma. Regina's singing to her in hopes that she'll wake up. She remarks that it's February again because she's still under more than a year later. She wants to grow older with Jessica rather than alone. And I think she's out of melodies because of the depressive nature of the subject matter. |

Here's what I think this song is about.
It's about living with the decisions you've made regarding the military and killing someone.
In the song the dude kills someone and the victim's family witnesses it. Ultimately everyone is someone's son or daughter.
The "angels fly away" part is the death of innocence. It's being shunned for having taken a life.
The chorus is the person relenting that now his family is the only thing he looks forward to.
The second verse is obviously related to PTSD. He's reliving the sight of the family grieving for their dead. |

I think it's about either a bad date or a bad relationship. It makes me think a bad date because of the "we gave each other proof we were there", like they have proof to show friends that they went to the date. It seems a very cynical song, like the date took a turn for the very worst, insults. Saying that she's fit to be abused or something. Very odd lyrics on this one, but my favorite song off of the new album. |

I think it's about someone (Regina) holding onto something so hard that she's paralyzed. Flowers given to her that have rotted but still may have bulbs blooming makes me think that she's waiting for something that may never happen. And she's at the point where she's losing sleep because she's waiting for something.
It's fear in it's most basic form. Everyone wants to be loved, and here she needs it to survive. The only trouble is that if the flowers are rotted she might be lost unfortunately. |

To me, Voice on Tape is when you can't take being around someone, but you want to remember when it wasn't as difficult.
