it's the saddest thing ever that they broke up... tightest band ever. seriously, every song is like the anthem to my highschool years. they were awesome live too. and the best part was a show at alley katz when they played last and everyone knew the words and everyone sang along in a completely packed room. |

crews and wearing the same color bandana as 10 of your friends doesn't make you any more "hardxcore". but then again, none of them have probably heard of lifetime. |

| Embrace (US) – Building Lyrics

yeah, i agree with northstar, (which is also a good band)... that THIS embrace is waay better.
Embrace (the US band) was part of a movement called Revolution Summer (summer of 1985-1986), which began as a result of the unnecesary violence at shows in DC as a result of hardcore being tainted by brainless jocks; the very people the bands were singing against. Ian MacKaye (Minor Threat, Teen Idles, Fugazi, etc) and Guy Picciotto (Rites of Spring, Fugazi, One Last Wish, Happy Go Licky) were instrumental in bringing about Revolution Summer. They slowed down the tempos in their songs and wrote less volatile lyrics that still held all of the power and passion of their former bands' lyrics. |
