David Bowie – Rock 'n' Roll Suicide Lyrics 19 years ago
This is my opion about this song ( I don't think anyone said this, but if they did, sorry): i think it's about a rock star, or any type of musical celebrity. When a band starts to play to be famous, they are basicly signing their own death contract.
"You're too old to lose it, too young to choose it.." I think means, you're too old to lose your fame 'cause you have no other skills besides music, but you're also too young and naive to chose weather you want to or not be popular.
he is talking about a singer who is having a writers block and all of their fans are waiting for them to write a new song, but they can't. So the only way to stay as a celebrity is to not eat, to be thin, and look as beautiful as the papers want them to be.
the singer now has a poor self image, and thinks no one really cares for them. they look in the mirror and constantly think of all of the things they could change. But Bowie is trying to tell them that they are beautiful as they are, but they can't get that through their head. Bowie wants to help them from causing their own suicide, in a sense. He's trying to help.
It's a very emotinal song to me. And I can't help but be sad when he says "Gimme your hands" he sounds so desperate to save them

Hed PE – Wake Up Lyrics 19 years ago
This song screams HATE! to me, and is best played on max. volume. with that said...
i think hed pe is calling out all of the cowards who don't want to say what is on their minds. They know their rights (as said in the 1st amendment). it's telling people to wake up and have a reality check and voice their minds. I like the last lines 'never die always living', what i think it means is that if you suck it up and say what you really want to say and make a difference you will always live on through your words.

Oingo Boingo – Nothing to Fear (But Fear Itself) Lyrics 19 years ago
I think that this song is saying how screwed up our world is today, how there is constant war, and old men suducing little girls. But then it's saying not to fear, to just sleep tight in our beds, or in other words just be ignorant to the world around you. I tihnk that the 'they' Boingo is refering to is everyone around us and if we don't become like them, then we will be soulless-- at least we will think we will be soulless. But we have to remember we don't have to become like 'them', we don't have to fear them taking away our souls either
that's my take on it
