Daughtry – Breakdown Lyrics 19 years ago
“Well, I'm sitting alone thinking about it all over coffee.
And still crowdin' my space are the things you still hold against me.
You cannot save me.”

Makes me think he’s at home because I don’t imagine he’s at Starbucks surrounded by things that give him grief and bad memories.

I’m not real sure what book he’s being bashed over the head with. The bible perhaps? Cliché I know, but that’s what I would associate “The Book” with. It would explain the “You cannot save me” as some religions consider a person being saved when they have accepted Christ in their lives.

I love how ambiguous this song is being that it could be a lover, or a family member, that breaks down a person with their hypocritical remarks. And then of course, the need to keep it together, “not the time to breakdown”.
