| I actually don't think the whole song is about a hooker. Since the title is "Hotel Song" it makes sense that the song is about the various things that occur in the hotel. Each verse is from a different point of view perhaps... the older man, the virgin, the suspecting wife, the drug dealer... maybe not exactly those roles, but it's definately different people who talk, not the same person. | |

I think the song itself is about trying not to be sad about life. It's trying to show you how simple it really is... don't try and make life more complicated or terrible than it is. You're living it, right? Make it good. this is how it works you peer inside yourself you take the things you like and try to love the things you took and then you take that love you made and stick it into some-- someone else's heart pumping someone else's blood I love this verse. It's saying to find something you like about your life, or some goodness in you, and love that. Embrace who you are. Understand what makes your heart beat, and share that. Not necessarily romantically, but allow people to love you, and love them back. |
