LNikky, believe it or not, but my first concert ever was Relient K opening for Switchfoot and the Supertones. That was waaayyyy back in May of 2001 (or 2000, I can't remember for sure). Ever since, I've been a fan of both bands. That was even before RK released Anatomy... Anywho, I thought I'd give my two cents on this song too. I think this is the best song Matty has written. I love how after the character dies, the music is so soft and sad. Then it builds and builds and builds, knowing that he is going to a better place. I think that's how it is when we die: Sure, it's a sad time, but it's also a great time because we're going to a better place. It's such a redeeming part of the song. In fact, I think that's the perfect word to describe the song: "Redemption." |

This song is about how the media (i.e. FOX News) keeps repeating what the Bush Administration feeds them. "Don't you dare go ask the newsman/Cause he'll tell you everything/He don't know." It goes on to talk more about how people have all these wrong preconceived notions and how people are forming opinions around what the media tells them: "And when she looked into their eyes to see/She know she ain't never going back to what she believe." |
