Built to Spill – Oh Yeah Lyrics 12 years ago
Its the proper way of writing it. You'd say : "He'd see how unlikely he himself seems" not "He'd see how unlikely he himself seem".

He (God) would see how unlikely he himself (God) seems [to the songwriter].

Sorry for the late reply LOL

I'm not much of a religious person and don't know the leanings of the song writer, but I have read a few things regarding the songwriter being critical of the teachings of some religions in how they use fear to push people to believe certain things. For example, a religion could tell people that if they don't believe in and give themselves up to God then they will go to Hell when they die. Criticism of this way of teaching through fear is a common theme in BTS songs (see: Randy Describes Eternity).

In this particular song, to me, it seems the songwriter is simply saying that if God really does exist, he is sure that God will forgive him for doubting that God exists because of how seemingly unlikely it is that God exists.

I feel this same way. I mean... God gives us little proof of his existence. It is easy for me to doubt His existence. If he does exist, however, I think he'd forgive me for doubting him since I'm just a human. I think an all knowing God would know that it is hard for me to believe in him 100% and that casting me to Hell for all eternity for my skepticism is a pretty harsh judgement.

"It's here in the smallest bones
the feet and the inner-ear.
It's such an enormous thing
to walk and to listen."

This is one of my favorite lyrics ever.

The Killers – The World We Live In Lyrics 16 years ago
I love this song. I think it's the best on the new album. I came to check out the lyrics and I'm surprised that people would prefer The River is Wild over this song. The River is Wild is horrible. This album is so much more solid that Sams Town. After Sams Town I decided to give up on The Killers, but I'm lucky I came across this album used. Album is great. This song is amazing.

shockthewombat is completely right....I'll add that in Anderson Mesa there are a ton of telescopes on "Mars Hill". "Red sky" in the lyrics, may be a reference to "Mars Hill" in Anderson Mesa where the telescopes are located.

There's no way this song is the best off the new album. Well, maybe to liqideos, but that's it.

I'm not sure what either song means EXACTLY, but I see some ambiguity. In "Why You'd Want To Live Here" the band seems to find LA, CA disagreeable. Then in this song, they sympathize with CA.

Maybe because the fires were in North CA rather than LA, CA?

"I'm Pimp Ass Money." This song is awesome and after seeing the lyrics and subsequently the Anthrax reference, it is even better.
