I personally love this song; however the reason is unknown it is a lovely display of sound and lyrics playing a part to tell a story about a boy and a man and how sufjan is "just like him" this i think is a metaphorical way to explain how he feels and how i think it hurts him, all the secrets he hides and how much more it must have hurt someone with a darker secret than even his own. |

I love this song i got noise floor as a gift and I will probably love its giver for ever I like the part when he says "Well, I knew I was lucky When the needle came and stuck me This porcupine came and poked my cactus hide" Because that is just a silly line and it has a whole lot of meaning behind it like the needle stuck me, but i already had needles in me so it didn't really matter i don't know this song and blue angels air show were both my favorite songs on the album. this song is a truly beautiful way to cope with the loss of a lover but i guess she was a monster maybe when he met her she wasn't but when he loved her she became one maybe he loved her more than she loved him and then she broke his heart and she wasn't even phased maybe thats why it hurt him so bad maybe thats why he says these things of sadness and empathy when he says "I think I deserve her" that might mean that he broke others hearts so then it came back on him and broke his I think that explains it okay. I beleive this song is a beautiful set of words and metaphoric meanings I love every single one of Conor Obersts beautiful words but as he said "you write such pretty words but lifes no story book" so i think that by turning thoughts and or dreams into "beautiful words" it makes his mind unwinde and out pours emotions that may even have no conitation to his own life maybe somthing he herd or read or even dreamed i like the theory that the baby might be him drowning in baptism water and now rading that water in for some vodka and or wisky i dont think that Connor is just some random "emo" kid maybe because im fighting myself from becomig that and too tell you the truth bright eyes with every song i hear i dont get more depressed i feel hapy and I get this floaty sensation because his lyrics are so free he says what he wishes not what people want him to he goes where every other musician never even dreams of going i think that that is why he relates to so many people we all dream of good times and we have all had the bad ones. also about the blue baby if you will recall Conor seems to have a fixation with the colour blue as herd in his song true blue off the motion sickness CD. Personally I hope that Conor never grows up i have herd many indie artists be refered to a more grown up Conor Oberst and i say i love his juvinile voice and i wouldnt have it any other way. Conor is a Scholor, a Poet, and a musician. When some hear him they hear the ramblings ofa seemingly drunk young man but when i hear him i hear a heart singing its song loud so every one can hear. thank you Conor for being so true blue "kid I dont know much about you but i love you cause your true blue." |
