Correction: Punch drunk doesn't mean you're actually drunk. It means either you're faking it, or you're in such a state that you appear drunk or have similar symptoms. It can come from being extremely enraged, or completely depressed.

The "horsehair sweater" is just a metaphor for his relationship. A horsehair sweater would be pretty itchy and annoying, right? He's saying he thinks he's outgrown it because he wants to get rid of it, just how he wants to get out of this relationship. |

I find it peculiar how Brandon's voice sounds like a train's whistle in this song.
It's not my favorite track in the CD, but it does apply to me in many ways, and it's good food for thought. |
