me and my mum used to sing this song in the car when it was fresh on the radio :) basically one meaning for it could be that he wants the night to last in their memories, saved, or that he wants the night to last forever because in the morning he'll have to leave and he doesn't want to. :] |

i love this song cuz it makes you feel good and kinda loved :) but i think it's meaning is sad. the girl is crying throughout the song. and at the end "they're meaner" - her eyes. so either there's some problem between them or something going on with her. and he tries to listen to her explaining what's wrong but he fell asleep, but at first he was a bit annoyed because he didn't hear the beginning of this song. so he keeps saying he needs to start the song again, as if to say to start listening to her again because he fell asleep trying to listen to her again. the whole "start over" thing is a pun: - he wants the song to start again - he wants to go back in time and listen to her again from the beginning. at the end her eyes could be "meaner" because he fell asleep while he was meant to be listening to her. sorted :) |

this is such a catchy song. i like the whole tune and how it begins. and yeah it is pretty self explanatory :] i like the spanish version better though; it sounds prettier and the words are a little tiny bit different |

THIS SONG IS ACE! i'm hooked on it! i think this is the basic meaning of the song: 1 - we all have our bad sides and bad days. 2 - someone has a bad day. 3 - the person who's having a bad day is saying "please remember me when i was having better days and please forgive me for being so stupid and nasty." it could also be saying that the person is lost and needs their close friend/bf/gf to save them from digging themselves deeper into the ground [and losing theirself in thought or confusion] and feeling down; asking their bf/gf/best friend to remind them of good times and to hold them close and tell them that everything is alright. basically gettin' their shine back into them :] (but isnt it strange how you get happy feelings and unhappy feelings from this song depending what mood you're in or what you're thinking?) |
