To TundraDesert:
and Dramamine, and Beach Side Property, and Talking Shit About A Pretty Sunset, and Head South, and Make Everyone Happy.
That CD is underrated. |

That's a good point Mymsical. Isaac Brock puts themes into albums, and Dashboard seems like it could have easily been a B-Side on Good News. I get pretty much the same message from it as I did from Float On. We still have the radio and we'll all float on anyway. A good message, hopefully new thoughts from Mr. Brock to come. |

I agree with Santa and that other guy. I'm getting pretty tired of these God damn hipsters complaining about their bands making money. Upset that they're not the only fan anymore. My first Modest Mouse CD was This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About, and it continues to be my favorite, but I also can say after that CD comes every other Modest Mouse album. Everyone has a different taste in music, and perhaps that's why everyone always fights about Modest Mouse music: MM doesn't stick with one sound and all their music can't exactly be catagorized into one single genre. I've seen them listed as rock, indie, alternative, pop and even emo (what the fuck man) so let's stop fighting about who knows more because we all like the same band here. Let's be friends.
Anyway, I'm really happy with this song. Wasn't crazy about Good News For People Who Love Bad News (which is what this sounds a lot like), but I'm prepared for some good stuff off of We Were Dead Before This Ship Even Sank. Just to complain though, it bothers me that Modest Mouse has Jeremy Green back, and all he really does is hit a bass drum a couple times and a high hat here and there. We all know what this guy is capable of (Trucker's Atlas). Good song. Sounds like a little Ugly Cassanova is leaking over to the Modest Mouse side of Isaac Brock's mind. March 20th I think is the date.

Yes. One of the Sad Sappy Sucker songs that I wish lasted like 3 minutes longer. With jamming. These lyrics are so good. Hit home for me. Sometimes I sit around and think "I could achieve everything I ever set my mind to in life and I'm still going to die like that smelly hobo over there." Which is true, but negative. And on the other hand, what's the point of being alive if you're not going to do anything with your life? Isaac Brock doesn't solve problems, he just addresses them. Which is really okay because it's the "the meaning of life" question anyway and no one has ever really gotten that close to the right answer there. Except Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, and John Cleese. |

I can remember listening to this song and knowing exactly what I wanted to post here but now it's kind of slipping away. "I want to see it when you find out what comets, stars and moons are all about." One of my single favorite BTS lines. There are kids at my highschool who are so into themselves and think they know everything just because the have a car or find and drink large amounts of alcohol (not hard to do in a college town). I want to see it when they find out what shit is really all about. Not them. Other stuff going on like planets and stars--not just those things but whatever those things are simbols for. Yeah I had it going on way better in my head this is a load of crap. |
