Kimn, I don't agree with your point of view on nickleback, but to each their own. I do however disagree with your comments about this particular song. I don't think that this song is about 'people being a little nicer and people would stop dying', but instead about how to two lovers the world seems so big yet to eachother, there is only the other. They don't realise that while they are so much in love with eachother and the small world around them that in the larger scale things are being destroyed and people are dying. The chorus pretty much is self explanitory, but instead of people 'being a little nicer' I think it says that if people embraced the way the two lovers lived, loving the small things in life, people might not necessarily stop dying, but the world would be better for it. |

I love this song so much. I was addicted to it the first time I heard it. Definately one of my 16 Volt favorites. This makes me think of an end of the world senario when everything has been destroyed by mankind due to war, and this song was written by the only survivor. He says he needs therapy because of all the things he's seen in war and these things will stay with him until he dies, thus 'kill the survivor whatever the cost'. The song pretty much dictates how someone thought that the destruction they started would end up helping in the end, but once everything is over, they realise that it was a mistake and ended up causing misery and they didn't want it to end up like that even though they survived 'i'm not ok and i don't want to end up hurting you' |

| i realise that this song probably has no relation, but a while ago on FOX they played a show called Firefly. I don't know if anyone has heard of it, but it's an awesome show, and every time I hear this song, it makes me think of 'Firefly' the show. I love this song! | |

I think if someone tried to look into this song, they would first see a song about drug addiction and or a loss of some sort, but if you look deeper, you see it is a little more subtle. I think it means his 'split personality'. He uses one with other people to make them like him but the other he hides, hence the two kids in the video. His split ends up hurting him in the end. "It's a lie, A kiss with opened eyes And she's not breathing back" His personality is a lie because a kiss with open eyes is like you don't really mean the kiss, a lie. And the she he is reffering to is his acutal personality. He's tried too much to be someone he's not that he's not even himself anymore. If anyone dissagrees with this i'd love to hear why. |
