| first of all some of the lyrics are wrong, instead of "i could love ya baby till it's a crying" it's "i could love you baby till it's a crime". i think it's to do with the girl in the song's father leaving her when she was younger, and now it affects the way she interacts with guys, like, she is searching for this love she never felt from a male figure, and finds this love from men. she dresses nicely to attract their attention, she switches her walk, once again indicating she craves the male attention. i think the "narrator" of the song is almost like a stalker type figure, he sees how insecure and vulnerable and desperate she is to be loved, so he knows how easy it will be for him to take advantage of her. "i can love ya baby til it's a crime". and if you listen to the song at the end his voice goes really creepy and deep, showing this dark sinister side to the narrator. and the whole wearing perfect dresses and smiling the perfect highschool smile is just a front this girl puts on to mask her pain and need for love. well, thats what i think anyway. | |
