| Radiohead – Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I agree with what everyone said about the doors representing different choices in life, but... "There are trapdoors that you can't come back from" I think refers to the big life-altering things that happen that you don't have any control over, ie life-threatening illness, people you care about dying, etc etc. |

| Gorillaz – Every Planet We Reach Is Dead Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
The first line is actually "I lost my LAND like I lost my way," and the line between "All the sick and selfless days" and "I want to see you again" is "You're in love with him." It's about a failing relationship, the one he loves is in love with someone else and he's not quite sure if they should try to salvage the relationship, or if he should let her go. She's the land, and the relationships are the planets; he lost the land and every planet he reaches is dead. As a side note, it's quite an awesome swing tune, quite easy to play. |

| Gorillaz – Don't Get Lost in Heaven Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Kong Studios was built over Monkey Mountain, which turned out to be a volcano and erupted in "Fire Coming Out of a Monkey's Head." Given that and the rest of the Gorillaz-lore... well, it's about keeping yourself on the right path [to heaven], because otherwise you'll make a big mistake, and look at what that can get you [crack on the corner, someone dead, toking lines, etc etc]. |

| Gorillaz – White Light Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Well, according to Rise of the Ogre... "Noodle: This song is about hte relentless fury of alcohol. The focused drive and singular thirst that that kind of desire creates. One man's passion is another man's addiction: Alcohol is one of hte ways we suppress our indecisions." ..And the vocals are indeed by Murdoc. |

| Radiohead – Go to Sleep. (Little Man Being Erased.) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think it's an argument between the cynic constantly watching/reading/listening to the news and idealist who tries to avoid it. "Something for the bone and rag man," (drug dealers), "Something big is gonna happen," (Impending disasters - global warming, etc), "Somene's son or someone's daughter" (victims of murder/violent crimes). "This is how I end up getting sucked in" (to being addicted to news). The repitition of "Over my dead body" might be the rebuttal: 'Well, I don't think all of this is as bad as you think, the world is still an ok place to live.' This same voice is the one telling us "I'm gonna go to sleep, let this all wash over me." The cynic tells us that we don't want the monsters or the loonies taking over (the loonies part somehow makes me think of "Brain Damage" by Pink Floyd), the idealist responds 'You've got to do this delicately, I don't want another war.' ("Tiptoe round, tie him down.") Leftist or rightist? I don't know, take your pick. The cynic says "May pretty horses come to you as you sleep," a sincere send-off ('I wish I could be that naive'). Realising in a true cynic manner that nothing will ever change, however, the cynic resigns and accepts that he can't change anything ("I'm gonna go to sleep, let this all wash over me.") Just a thought. |
