i definitely think the actress frances farmer is a representation of courtney. i don't know how kurt's relationship was with courtney during the time he wrote the song, but it sounds like he wanted a split, and had been unhappy with her for a while, and decides to tell her that, and she freaks out and gets incredibly pissed off. i think that's how the line "i miss the comfort in being sad" comes in. he's glad he got it out of his system, but he also liked it better before he told her. that's just my two cents. |
