By the way, quick edit here... Another reason why I think she is treating him crap constantly is because in the song, he says "You'd better learn That this will not blow over and over". Showing that she has done it numerous times before. And about the title, I think its connected to the lyrics "Youd better learn", saying in the end there are going to be consenquences (such as HE breaking up with SHE), but it's better to learn and be hurt, then to not hurt and not learn at all. |

Actually I find it kind of funny... because I feel like this song is how my relationship with my girlfriend is now... So how I personally interpret it is that the girl is treating him like crap, (He is asking her what his "body is worth") and she doesn't seem to see what she's doing to him ("We walk along but never turn to see what we have done"). But (in my case at least), he still loves her and doesn't want to leave her ("I will not let you go, let you go"). Another issue is that she keeps doing what shes doing over and over again ("Its not gonna change you") and it's as if there was a "price set before", showing that it's almost as if there's only a maximum amount of respect that she is treating him with. Plus, he is trying hard to do everything to make the relationship work ("We've chose our steps carefully for you"), also showing that he was exclusively making the relationship work for her. With the title (It's Far Better To Learn), I'm taking a long jump here, but I feel like it's saying how its better to learn from your mistakes, than for them to go unnoticed. Of course though, that's more of an obvious statement... Possibly the title is just emphasizing it? Anyways, I understand that this can be religious, but I saw a comment saying how other band members try to make it be relatable to other situations. Lucky for me though, my girlfriend and I aren't in as much shit as what I interpreted the song to be x] |

| To me, it seems like in the beggining of the relationship, 'he' didn't want 'her' because of an arguement, fight, ect (I heard you cry, as I left you far behind) . But towards the end, 'he' realizes that he made the mess (built the fire) and now wants her back and has nothing (Broken castled by the shore). | |

| Nah, it's just that every band has to have one song that's about love WITHOUT the inerpretation :P | |
