| Rammstein – Wollt Ihr Das Bett In Flammen Sehen (English) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
.....come on, it's so Freud with the songs' beds, death drive, all over. In dreams (which take place on beds, I know you know but just to show it's obvious meaning in this interpretation) a dagger/gun/rubbing is attributed to sexual impulses of the man, and concave/empty things such as cups, boxes, locks, are symbols of the femal sexual impulses (not present in this song) with this in mind, the theme is of sex and destruction. the bed (as said earlier, and thank you for saying so billywoods1) is the unconscious wishes, the dreams/fantasies of sex, so by asking "Do you want to see the bed in flames?" what is really being asked is"do you want to make dreams reality, destroying the fantasy with heat/flames (sex)" As with "Lachzeit" the male sex organ is replaced with something symbolic (Lachzeit's was a fish) which in the song is a dagger with blood (getting the picture?) it's bleeding, "it's" (the dagger) is bleeding, not the victim, and licking is just another method of sex the second verse is confusing, crosses being something of sacrifice (crusifiction) or maybe just the idea of the pillow being the "crossing" point from reality to dream, and so "can you see your fantasies"? instead of stabbing, innocence kisses, which is a much more affectionate method of love, it's more of a womanly thing to do (being that it's believed kissing originated from the mother giving her child food from mouth to mouth) and thus the interogator is asking "You really think innocence is in you?" the "dead" are the people who have "set the bed to flames", or have lost innocence to sex, death of the innocent and the "cross" of dream to reality In conclusion, the act of killing is sex, with the dagger stabbing killing innocence and setting the bed aflame, and in this style, "battle/war" becomes the repeated act of sex, between the man and the woman, (Freud again, penis envry and castration complex) Being as sex is a theme shared in many Rammstein songs, it's not hard to see this as a song of the loss of purity/innocence to the dagger/flames.... |

| Eric Heatherly – Counting Flowers on the Wall Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| .....Flashwc, I never though of agoraphobia, which is a pretty good idea of it's meaning, my only thought is that "not accustomed to this light" would indicate that this is not a life he's led, and the same with "shoes are not accustomed to this hard concrete" which is just as evident as the eyes, but I can see agoraphobia, I don't think he's (the singer/character) is "completely" isolated, as he is talking to someone, and the person shows concern or curiousity for at least asking him how he is and such, anyhow, that's that.... | |
| Rammstein – Ich Will (English) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| .....to myself, the song is an indictment on the media, and how they will follow anything for a good story, and maybe a pulitzer, the video sums it up with a bank robbery that ends with the crimminals being awarded for their crime, if you want to hear it sound even better, get the volkerball one and it sounds great at the beginning with the drums.... | |
| Benji Cossa – Volcano Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
.....it's about finding what to do in life "I'll never wanna come back from again" Perhaps wanting something so perfect so as to not wish to do it again.... "And we really wanna be someone Everybody said we were something I wish I could feel like nothing's wrong" We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. So the narrator feels it's so wrong, but knows that it was fantasy, though still wishes for it ((maybe?)) "Could we really be much better? To whom do you compare? And where will we go when we get there?" Looking to the past, you look for how to be, and what ot improve, but all of your present actions....for whom do you compare? And if you do succeed in making something "new", where to from there? "Cos' everyone I know Is reaching for the peak of the volcano" Volcanoes are destructive, obviously, but can create life in a better way afterward....so it's either 1. Everyone is doomed to die and is slowly walking towards their end 2. Self destruction is the answer to being "much better" "Be careful of where you're walking Beware of what you're wanting Do you believe you can be strong?" A word of caution, advising that your wishes best be well, and your will strong. "Cos' we can burn it all down Spread that fire around Cover it up with pounds of ash" It's about destroying that past, the comparisons, and creating anew, erupting the volcano. Covering the past with ash, (and building on it) "Now I saw that lava blooming Red stems and thorns are shooting What are we doing standing here?" This is the narrator seeing the falling action, and wondering if it was good or just. But he doesn't say that, he just cares about their position in relation to what occured. This can be put into a number of interpretations, which make it so great, and it fits in with the movie as well... |

.....I think it's actually about a guy saddened by a woman leaving him, but he doesn't want her to know and pretends to be all good and chippy but looks bad "I know I look a fright" it's so cheery yet the lyrics are of depression, "I'm not accustomed to this light" and he is also sad that he cannot go out to town "Last night I dressed in tails, pretended I was on the town. As long as I can dream, it's hard to slow this swinger down" but it's a ok.... |

| Rammstein – Eifersucht (English) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
aheheh.... a primitive alternative? Really, for it contrasts how to resolve particular envies with consumption ((much like dali's idea of the skin being a mere glove)) in this sense it's the resolve with extreme envy, rage.... Maybe it's a physco's DIY.... . . . . . hee hee? Just me: the background sometimes sounds like till is laughing or just repeating the "ei" sound to begin "eifersucht" |

| Nine Inch Nails – Only Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| well, as he says, he's the only one, so I was thinking reznor was talking about solipism, or the philosohpy that says there is nothing outside the self, though i doubt this is what it parallels...gotta love "things aren't as pretty on the inside" | |
| AC/DC – Hells Bells Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
i am late, but i think it sort of says that death waits for no one obviously the left and right bits are refering to "left bad, right good" so he says it good he's in the left and is sticking it to the "right", ...or he'll be the opposite of everything good...pfft! sort of like "sympathy for the devil" if you ask me, with a louder beat, both are excellent though |

| ...hell yeah! | |
| Rammstein – Engel (English) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| in dogma, angels are servants, and yet there are the rebels, so maybe it's them destroying the angel myth, the one where we imagine some cute child resting it's head on a cloud with a halo over it's head.....reality is that angels can be a juggeranaut, look at sodom & gomorah, brim stone...but the point seems to say that we are flawed, and cannot become angels, so why try? very anarchic... | |
| Rammstein – Los (English) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| ...there are god....less! awesome song, till does the harmonica, true testament to them with not just screaming and burning stuff, ironic the song to their critics (like links) is in a completely different style... | |
| Rammstein – Amour (English) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| romeo & juliet? well, it's just saying love is strong and cannot be controlled, and once overpowering you, can only end with your death...cause were all just animals conforming to a pact, as hobbes would say... | |
| Rammstein – Asche Zu Asche (English) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| saw a shirt that once said, "if jesus came back to life, we'd crucify him again", though it hasn't anything to do with the song, maybe it's pointing out how forgiving christ is, and what if he were more, (this is a bad example) pagan, more you give me crap, and i'll shove it back...the ashes seems to fit the human condition, born into a insane wonderland, and end in dust, nothing to nothing... | |
| Rammstein – Keine Lust Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| well yeah, undressing, not getting it on, etc, but in the making of the music video they said it was cause when they started they loved the money, cars, and fun...but they discovered that they loved the music more.....well not really a meaning, but the consumption by lust makes sense, not quite in moderation...though i think that it's more of he doesn't "desire" it (fill in this as X) but he cannot stop for there is nothing else, thus "i am cold" (Y) so, he is forced to do X but hates it and knows Y will happen, downward spiral....check the music video out too, flake is the odd one out in everything, he arrives late, is skinny and is left behind, not to mention he didn't wanna be in the band...aheh... | |
| Rammstein – Amerika (English) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| "i don't sing my mother's tounge"-quite obviously says that culture is lost with cocacolization (spread of democracy eh?) | |
| Rammstein – Bestrafe Mich (English) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| aheheh, good point sorta like the second person version of buck dich eh? i'd suppose it's about how the pain doesn't matter as long as they care enough to do it, stockholm syndrome in a way, but i love the line "you say yes, and i say no" such emotion in till's voice... | |
| Rammstein – Bück Dich (English) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| quite often, serial killers and the like destroy a persons face to dehumanized them, thus the person is an object...though it's obviously about sex and master contra slave (just see the live performance...aheh...) | |
| Rammstein – Der Meister (English) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
well, i'd agree w/apoclypse now theory, cause they say it... ...though i don't think it's right, another theory could be african american slaves being chased, and that would mean the end... but the angels, the running, and the master (god, maybe that trinity thing...) all adds up... |
