| Ke$ha – Blah Blah Blah Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Is that sarcasm or are you being serious? The "white trash and liberal politics go hand in hand" comment is pretty damn near the exact opposite of the truth. I mean look at how the major cities vote. Your "white trash"-like areas like much of Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Virginia were predominantly McCain/Bush supporters in the recent presidential elections. Then you have most cities like Detroit, Chicago, NYC, most Cali cities, etc largely supporting the Democratic candidate. But anyway, about the song. Yea it comes off as pretty trashy, but at the same time, it looks like that's her aim and she doesn't care what people are going to think. |

| Rise Against – Re-Education (Through Labor) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Well unless there's a double meaning here, it's just about the Chinese and human rights abuses over there. The lyrics are absolutely amazing when you understand just what it's about. Re-education Through Labor in China is how they punish their "criminals" (many of whom aren't all that criminal, but are either framed or harshly punished for extremely minor crimes). It's all about the Chinese and how crappy they are treated, yet they still work their asses off for their country. That is, until the end of the song where you notice the lyrics change and the people decide they won't take it anymore. | |

| Does the song title have any meaning other than being the 5th song on the album? | |
| Phil Collins – In The Air Tonight Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Some of you people need to stop. Does Phil in this quote seem like he has any desire for the meaning to this song to be left open. He's as frustrated by the urban legends as I and many others are. PHIL COLLINS: "I don't know what this song is about. When I was writing this I was going through a divorce. And the only thing I can say about it is that it's obviously in anger. It's the angry side, or the bitter side of a separation. So what makes it even more comical is when I hear these stories which started many years ago, particularly in America, of someone come up to me and say, 'Did you really see someone drowning?' I said, 'No, wrong'. And then every time I go back to America the story gets Chinese whispers, it gets more and more elaborate. It's so frustrating, 'cos this is one song out of all the songs probably that I've ever written that I really don't know what it's about, you know." |

| Good Charlotte – Dance Floor Anthem Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
''But i don't really understand the drug references, that's is there are any and I'm not just reading into it wrongly, but hmmm. "trippin" and "he had to get out" and "she's using" '' LOL at 'drug references' comment... "Trippin on the phone" is saying he was just getting worked up and angry. Ever heard anyone say "why you gots to be trippin?" lol "He had to get out" is obviously about the relationship, not drugs. "knows she's movin it, knows she's using it" should be obvious if you look at the first half of the line. It's about her on the dance floor. |

| Linkin Park – No More Sorrow Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
It's about going to war and the government and such. So the first verse is talking about how Bush may think he has fooled everyone and his crusade (its supposed to be campaign isn't it?) -- crusade is used because it is about his supposed agenda. Crusades were periods several hundred years ago when Christians used violence and military action to force people to follow Christianity. Definitely a black mark in Christian history, and IMO comparing Bush to a crusader is harsh, and sounds WAY too much like terrorist brainwashing -- anyways, he promised the US freedom and money and everything, but the freedom isn't there because the country is at war and instead they have fear. etc etc. The thieves and hypocrites is talking about the government stealing money from the US maybe, -- just liars. Politicians who are hypocrites and campaign as one person but end up nothing like what the people hoped for. You'll see a lot more of these lyrics if Americans remain ignorant and continue to support Guiliani, Romney, Clinton, and Edwards (Obama is iffy) -- This line here: I had hope I believed But I'm beginning to think that I've been deceived speaking of believing what Bush said. They had done what they were told and thought everything was going to be okay, but now they're realizing what's really going on. -- Yeah, definitely. I'm shocked at how many people on here are such diehard Bush defenders. I would normally have called myself a moderate Bush-defender UNTIL I saw the EXTREME Bush defenders on here. They make me look like a hater. -- And lastly, this line: (No) Your time has come to be replaced (No) Your time has come to be erased Bush's presidential time is going to be over soon, and i doubt he will be re-elected. -- lol, he's not up for re-election since he served two terms (I would say one too many, but Kerry WAS a loser). It's ok tho, you're Canadian so I don't blame you for not knowing he can't be re-elected. -- I thought it was about religion too, but I hope not because this song is about disliking and yeah. And what's an athiest? -- Are you serious? An Atheist does not believe in any God, Holy Spirit, etc. -- |

| Linkin Park – In Between Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Wow, people actually consider this a song???? It's a poem! And what's all this "Mike sings good" crap?? There is no singing in this song!! Singing involves like changing your pitch, voice, etc. This is a guy reading a poem to some sort of really lame noise (I don't really think you can call it music). When I heard this song, I was like, uhhhh, what the ****? The whole time I was expecting a beat to start up and it's just all nothing. There are four bad songs on this album. From worst to least worst they are: In Between, In Between, Valentine's Day, and In Between. This "song" deserves only to be on a poetry website, not a musical album. I'm not even a fan of the screaming your lungs out part of Linkin Park, I actually hate sometimes when they do that (like in part of "Given Up"). Linkin Park is my favorite band, but I also like bands like Five For Fighting and The Fray which should go to show you how much I think this "song" blows. this is shit all right, but not THE shit. |

Boag, thank you a ton for bringing that up! I searched through all these three pages of political opinions I don't give a **** about looking for someone to say wtf those last lines meant. I'm not even atheist and I have to admit that is a frickin awesome quote! When the rich wage war, it's the poor who die - TKamp, it doesn't necessarily have to refer to wealth (although it is true a lot, but not all, the time). It kind of just refers to power. The people who are calling the shots are the ones who feel the least bad consequences. and TKamp again, about Boag's interpretation. I realize you can interpret it how you wish, but the fact that you are praying up but get swallowed down supports the interpretation of believing in a God who ends up not existing rather than ending up being accepted by him. If it were to be interpreted as being accepted by God, the line would probably involve going up toward where you are praying. Know what I mean. And I too have been considering entering the military but it won't be any time real soon. Probably not until our war with Iran (which won't happen if America supports the right prez candidates). But for as long as my motto "People are stupid" continues to hold true for the majority of Americans, it looks like we will end up with a president not willing/smart enough to go through every option possible to avoid war. |

| Angels and Airwaves – The War Lyrics | 19 years ago |

some of you guys are overrating this song. It's not that great. It's good and I like it, but come on, how can a song be great if it has as few lyrics as this one. Anyways, I saw the video and was kinda confused so I saw that a couple more times (still not sure of some parts of it) before I even payed attention to the lyrics. Lyrics seem pretty obvious to me. The first three are pretty clear of the Dieppe Raid like piper_ said. Then the next set of lyrics about the houses laid out seems to be clearly about the 2 atom bombs. It isn't necessarily anti-war. The chorus is clearly about a person's(particularly a soldier's) internal conflict about whether a war is right or wrong. The chorus can definitely be related to this mess in Iraq or really any war but the non-chorus parts are just like WWII. |
