Reed first found prominence as the guitarist and principal singer-songwriter of The Velvet Underground (1965 - 1973). The first impression I got collectively from this whole song is that a girl is conforming to be just like everyone else, jumping on every new bandwagon that comes around. For instance "When you make a cup of tea, you act like it's alchemy" The person thiniks making tea is cool and asian, but it's just tea so stop trying to act cool. Thats what I get out of it. |

This truly is one of the best songs ever recorded. In the years to come, this one will remain a classic. The lyrics are ok, but the music itself is amazing. The guitar solos at about 3:50, and then at the end of the song are incredible. |

The line "I was a king I was a moth, with painted wings made of cloth" That caught me as soon as I heard it. If this song is about drug addiction then does it mean that on drugs he felt he was a king, but in reality was a helpless bug with useless wings? |

This is my favorite song by Tea Party. The chorus is awesome. A pretty straight forward song. The first part is obviously about a love going to war, then later in the song it is about the family of a man going to war and how they feel. |
