| A Perfect Circle – Rose Lyrics | 18 years ago |

A great song, masterfully written lyrics which are open to interpretation to anyone smart enough to open their mind to it. Too me, this song is about breaking away from social standards that are on you in order to fit in. Fitting in, and acceptance are two of the biggest goals our minds have. However, a compromise must be made in order to effectively fit in with a crowd, and that is you limit your individuality, your own will. 'Rose, stay frozen, compromise what I will, I am' Those are the first two verses, the third and fourth describes the breaking of these social compromises, in order to more truly explore your own individual self. |

This song is about a man About a man imprisoned by the inquisition and likely being executed. wether the man has sinned or not and is deserving of the punishment (Not that the inquisiton was fair,Just or anything resembling the wishes of Jesus christ, Or anyone was deserving of the punishment) he will recieve is debatable "Lost the love of hevaen above, choose the lust of the earth below" seems to be a indication that he has sinned somewhat. But i think its wrong to take them at face value, with such an un straight forward song. Anyways there are severeal references to the Inquisiton. "Saintly shrouded men" the Inquisitors wore Cloaks, that hid they're faces and beleived that they were doing gods will (Which would make them, In thier own eyes at least, Saintly) "Sillhouettes stand against the sky" Perhaps the shillhouettes of the fires of those burnt at the stake. "One in front with a cross held high"Preists Holding Crosses Usually acompanied Inqusitors. |

| Iron Maiden – The Educated Fool Lyrics | 19 years ago |

This song is about someome who has gone to school, gone to college but realizes how little he really knows so little. I think this song refers to going into the after life two clues are "Have a liftime of experience" (They may not have that much longer to live on this earth) "I want so see my father beyond" (He wants to see his father in the after life, or he wants to see God in the after life) Further evidence is what i beleive are lyrical references to heaven "I want to walk right into the light I want to feel no fear but delight" and hell "I want to walk right into the fire I want to live out all my desires" The verse "Never felt this way before Seems that somebody's just opened the door To the book of life .... or is it death! there's ever anyway out" Seems to say that there is more then life on this earth, That The opened door is actually death, the way out of a life which is an illuison |

To me, i beleive this song is about domestic abuse, Maybe stemming from acohoism. the lines 'Wakeup. Grab a brush and put on a little make up, Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup" Seems to me a referebce to domestic abuse and the scars it leaves physically and emptionally. "I don't think you trust, In, my, self righteous suicide, I, cry, when angels deserve to die, Die" This could mean manythings. It could be a reference to acoholism and the distrust that stems from it, the abuser might sub consciously know its killing him but not do anything. I cry when angels deserve to die could also mean that the victim loves the person when they are sober, but hate them when they're drunk. These lines could also mean that the victim is lamenting over themselves, Saying that the victim is an angel but the abuser treats them horribly. "Father/Father/Father/Father Father/ Into your hands/I/commend my spirit, Father, into your hands, Why have you forsaken me, In your eyes forsaken me, In your thoughts forsaken me, In your heart forsaken, me oh, " This could mean that the child initilay has respect and love for the father (Who ill asume is the abuser here) and then animosity. |
